I wanted to share a trip I just spent that last 15 mins or so fantasizing about.

Some spice came to me a while ago now. I have some experience with it, and my door has been open to those wishing to venture into consciousness, but I've been slow to really dig in myself. Part of it was that I was working to find myself in the midst of some very deep-reaching life changes I was experiencing. Part of it was that I was waiting to find the time and space to experience it separate from pressures or judgement or expectations of the people and things that come and go from my life. Part of it was just plain nervousness caused by the huge respect that I have for the medicine.

Tonight, an opportunity for the time and space I had been looking for came along and I decided it was time to push past my nervousness and begin building a closer relationship with the medicine. I took the opportunity to test out the Herbalair bag vaporizer I had bought recently. I used a piece of a copper Chore Boy scrubber to hold the spice. I warmed it up and then dropped ~40mg on and let it melt in. When I started it up, it vaporized beautifully. Unfortunately, the bag leaked pretty bad where it attached to the mouthpiece. In my fantasies, I always get exactly the dose I'm supposed to get, so I figured the leak was just perfecting the size of my dose.

When the bag filled, I laid back and took a big lung full. I held it for the count of 10, then let it out and fished the half a lung still in the bag. I held that as long as I could and then let it out. I got the far-off crackling and then the high tone. After that, I got a nice warm feeling all around my head and neck and arms. I saw a few simple images (eyes closed) and felt tension releasing from places I'd been trying to let go of all day. The body load lingered for less than 10 minutes. I was left relaxed, and over my nervousness. Although I was hoping for a more profound trip, I'm happy with what I got and now I'm excited to delve deeper.

In my friend's fantasies, his vaporizer bag connects to the mouth piece with a metal hose clamp, and his doesn't leak. I'll try that next time. Other than that, the vaporizer seemed to work well and the copper mesh seemed to do its job.
