Dear members, Due to a serious issue in one of the datacenters that the DMT-Nexus uses to function, we have had a downtime today from about 9AM CET. Currently they are working hard to get everything working again but still, that one server we need is still not online. So in the meantime I reprogrammed the forum so we could READ it and use the CHAT. For the near future I will do two things to make sure this will not happen again: 1) We will leave that current datacenter that screwed up big time (about 100.000 sites are currently offline in NL!) 2) I will make the service of that one server redundant and host it on TWO different datacenters. FUNCTIONS CURRENTLY NOT WORKINGSince we need the missing server for encryption purposes the following function are not available yet: * Making a new thread * Posting * Sending a PM Once the server we need is up again I will make sure to post an update here, and I hope that will be soon! Kind regards, The Traveler

You are AWESOME Trav. Thanks Let us declare nature to be legitimate. All plants should be declared legal, and all animals for that matter. The notion of illegal plants and animals is obnoxious and ridiculous. — Terence McKenna

UPDATE: I have setup a new server at another datacenter and moved everything already to make sure we are not dependent on the bad datacenter anymore. Kind regards, The Traveler

Still the Nexus runs on Microsoft-IIS/8.0 instead of Apache. So no Forward Secrecy possible. Yet the Utah Data Center is up and running and some folks are discussing drug matter like the web has never been monitored. http://www.nytimes.com/2...orks-of-us-citizens.html

It is possible though a certain 'check-engine' (you know which one) then detects the nexus as having other problems. When that check-engine is updated I will put new energy into it again. Kind regards, The Traveler

Yes, I'm aware of that dilemma. I'm actually not criticizing you, I'm more puzzled about certain people here, discussing extraction teks in the midst of an surveillence affair. I don't need Forward Secrecy and you don't probably, too. The ones who need FS, are the ones located in the US and other surveillence states, openly discussing extraction teks on a RC4_128_SHA cipher suite while the NSA has switched their Utah Data Center on. The ones that are still hitting the M$/Apple donation button, instead of the Nexus donation button. M$/Apple will perpetuate their crappy products and proprietary interests, while the Trav miss out on the money/energy to switch to a real webserver like nginx or Apache. If you discuss extraction teks with a M$/Apple browser, I encourage you to read: SSL: Intercepted today, decrypted tomorrow http://news.netcraft.com...-decrypted-tomorrow.htmlWith the latest trend to analyze webtraffic, build relation graphs, undermine random number generators and start generating files on people, you want to read it a 100 times until you understand what it means. If the NSA is capable of decrypting the RC4_128_SHA cipher suite the Nexus uses, some will find themselves in a graph database with their IP addresses, their real names, social relations and the interest in (extracting/consuming) certain compounds. Also check out: https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/viewMyClient.htmlYou'll see difference e.g. between Google, safeorscam.com, your online bank and the Nexus and how well your browser is equipped SSL-wise. Consider my post to raise awareness about how crappy some products are designed and draw your own conclusions. The Nexus is a great place and some should learn about the technical knowledge that is involved to keep communication safe.

Let me be the first to help you out of this dream: nginx or Apache are not per definition more safe than the other real webserver (yes it is a real webserver) called IIS. All have had severe security issues in the past (and will have in the future). Also open source does not mean per definition that it has no security issues like backdoors. The people who are able to check the code for such vulnerabilities are few, and even fewer have the spare time to go through all the current code, let alone the code that is added each and every day. Ufostrahlen wrote:If you discuss extraction teks with a M$/Apple browser, I encourage you to read: I'm missing Chrome here and as stated before, FireFox is not more safe by default, far from it even. Besides, the Safari browser from Apple is based on open source too. Kind regards, The Traveler

I have deep faith (not my strong suit that is for sure) that Traveler is constantly working hard to protect us as well he can. So THANK YOU TRAVELER again, for all of YOUR hard work, time, study (keeping on the cutting edge) and money to continue this. As for any NSA observing me as I discuss extraction tek theory, then I say come and get me. Not only is the house clean and empty of most suspicious items but I'm still in a situation where though I don't want to go to jail, the State would loose so much. They could seize everything we own and sell it at auction and barely break $2K. Then it's time to start taking care of my medical needs in jail. Well that is $850 a month in prescription drugs, as well as frequent blood tests and infrequent X-Rays and scans. Okay I need a LOT of gnarly dental work. That's another couple G. Oh man, I'm well on my way to being a crispy critter, so I'm going to need mental health interventions, counseling, group therapy and more meds to the tune of about $400 to $500 month. I cannot afford an attorney so the State will have to pay for my Public Defender. Etc., etc., etc., etc. . . . .. They got bigger fish to fry that will net The State beaucoup $$$$. And we all know this. A little bit of discretion and very little greed as well as Traveler's continuing hard work will keep me safe no matter how much Big Brother or the Telescreen peak in. "But even if nothing lasts and everything is lost, there is still the intrinsic value of the moment. The present moment, ultimately, is more than enough, a gift of grace and unfathomable value, which our friend and lover death paints in stark relief."-Rick Doblin, Ph.D. MAPS President, MAPS Bulletin Vol. XX, No. 1, pg. 2Hyperspace LOVES YOU

I wouldn't pretend to personally know much about the current state of surveillance or cyber dirty tricks. But the Nexus is a great body of collective knowledge, and a wonderful record of the evolution of a community in real time. Losing it would be a large step backward.
It would be prudent to have regular complete backup copies of the whole site physically separated on hard drives and distributed to a few people. If the Nexus does get taken out, it could then be reuploaded - from a Russian or Icelandic or wherever server.
Sincerely hope this is happening.
