Hi everyone,
I am looking into purchasing some zinc dust, primarily to try the simple synthesis of THH from harmaline, but also to experiment with the procedure I have seen floating around the forums that converts DMT n-oxide to DMT freebase.

My question is which zinc do I need for this? I can assume zinc oxide will not work, but I have access to zinc gluconate, zinc sulfate monohydrate, zinc nitrate, and then one simply labeled "zinc powder". I am guessing probably the latter, but I figure I should make sure before I purchase anything.

Correct, zinc (metal) powder.
It works by reacting with an acid to make reactive hydrogen.
