the subject is everything to this.

i personally seem to be non receptive to fumaric, never been sure why, but i got into a discussion and found that this acidic crystal i have (presuming its citric crystals but not sure) does dissolve in acetone.

now maybe it does not fall out of suspension when the alkaloids are poured in, or maybe it just doesnt latch on to begin with, i honestly dont know which is why im asking?

why can you only use fumaric acid? and are their any alternatives?

thank you.

I believe the reason is that fumaric acid is a dicarboxylic acid, so the dmt salt has one molecule of fumarate and 2 molecules of dmt. that is the basis for the large change in solubility from the freebase form to the salt form. There are other dicarboxylic acids, such as succinic acid, but I don't know if they have they are soluble in IPA or acetone. Also fumaric acid is recognized as food safe, is easily available, and is well researched by nexus members. Not sure why you wouldn't want to use it.

Appart from the solubility changes usefulness, the reason for fumaric acid is because DMT fumarate is a solid, as opposed to most other salts like hcl citrate acetate etc which are hygroscopic and remain as a goo.
