Hiya all my cactus loving friends!

Saturday I'm going bigger than ever before on my cactus dose and have many things, toys, synergy substances, art, music, LAZERS!, all laid out, should they come in handy along the way. My best friend is joining me and it should be very, very good.

I know we've talked about keeping hydrated and pre-hydrated so as to avoid too much liquid during the course of the trip, but what can really pre-hydrate me for 8-10 hours? Obviously nothing, I can't just eat some of those goo blobs that hold water in potting soil.

My dilemma is that I inevitably end up with a dehydration headache. Every time. Some worse than others, but all a pain in the head not very welcome in that come-down afterglow (or any time for that matter).

I'll be drinking LOTS of water ahead of time as usual, mixed with a wee bit of sea salt and some honey. I'll also have jugs of that same home-made sports drink around for the trip on Saturday.

My question... do any of you have any other strategies or plans that work for you in keeping hydrated during long cactus experiences??

Maybe it's just me, but even drinking plenty of water DURING, I seem to wind up with a pain in my noggin'

Thanks ahead of time... Peace and Blessings

Also... if any of you blast off on FB spice during cactus trips, how much do you do at a go, and what's your favorite time during the trip?

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

I usually drink as much water as I can stand up until about 2 hours before dosing. I will then wait a couple hours before drinking more water (basically wait till I've either purged, or my stomach has settled and absorbed.

I also HIGHLY recommend taking 5 drops of lemon essential oil about 20 minutes before dosing. It pretty well takes care of nausea issues for me.

I always make a big pot of fresh ginger tea with lemon and honey when drinking cacti tea.

Helps alot with comeup nausea and is refreshing and delicious.

i've never worried about it- and never had a "mescaline headache" even with large doses and very strenuous physical trips

try searching "mescaline headache" on various forums for some deep discussion on the topic

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I looked around at some mescaline headache threads (thanks for mentioning that) and people seem to disagree/have different ideas on causes, with hydration, blood pressure, and occular over-stimulation (lol), being the three leading guesses.

With that in mind I think I'll have a bit of niacin and ginko biloba on hand - maybe pop a couple over the course of the day. Obviously I'll keep on the hydration thing and I'll have my sunglasses handy...

I wonder if you can burn through a lot of proteins, especially with these longer experiences. I like to eat some meat a few hours after an experience now. It feels both grounding and very nourishing. I think after some NAC ceremonies they pass around dehydrated deer meat. There might be a practical reason for that as well as a symbolic one.

So maybe a small bowl of steel cut oats after the first 3 hours or so... once the resin makes it past my stomach?

Hello Pup, Good suggestions above to eat and drink as you can before and during the experience. I'm never certain if my cactus headaches are due to dehydration or something else, like maybe a reaction to tyramine? I get them about half the time time, and when I do my best strategy is to take a tramadal (ultram) along with 4 ibuprofen just when the sensation of head pressure crosses over into head pain. If I wait too long after that point then I have to lower my expectation of how much pain relief to expect.

A dmt blast during the trip can be great! I used premeasured doses stored in gel caps which I could open into the pipe (operating the scale on mescaline would suck). The dose was one I was comfortable with at the time (26 mg in a regular pipe) and taken sometime after the peak. It was a happy, joyous time and I still see the fig tree dancing whenever I look at it! Very happy

Good travels to you!
A scale is a wonderful thing. Everything else posted by CS is lunatic fiction.
