I will tell how it goes once it's here...
"Once I thought I'd been offered a joint but had been given angel dust. I smoked it, but had horrific hallucinations - oh my God, I was out of control.
I saw eight of everything and believed that I could fly.
That was when I stopped taking drugs. I started doing them to be a rebel, then realised that doing drugs just meant I was being an idiot.
Now I hate drugs. I constantly tell kids to stay away from them - they are the root of all evil." - David Gest

can someone explain to me how an extraction would go using the ultrasonic method. i have aboslutly no understanding of the science behind not only the ultrasonic stuff but how you could extract something with it.

About how much powdered MHRB can fit into a 500ml soxhlet?

I've been wondering the same, except with a 1000mL.
Ideally, SWIM would like to dream about doing 400-450g in a run.

Any idea as to what size soxhlet would be needed?
The websites I've found offer 71/60, 103/60 & 145/60.

One of them offers a 71/60 with a ptfe stopcock at the bottom of the extraction chamber.
This is the one SWIM's had his eye on.

perhaps it would be more practical to PC the bark in acidic water for half an hour, maybe 40 mins, using a stainless steel PC of course.

btw...sonifiers (aka cell disruptors) are primarily designed to handle small volumes. due to wave attenuation, it would be ineffective for the purposes relevant to mhrb extraction, with perhaps the exception of analysis
