That's exactly what I am saying, you got it spot-on. It's undeniably a paradoxical conceptual scenario and most contradictory on many philosophical levels.

So in effect god is not only paradoxical, infinite and contradictory but entirely subjective to each individuals translation? Jesus, no wonder there"s so much inter religious bigotry. I"m so glad i"m agnostic!

That's cool, being glad is a good thing. I was just saying the human interphase is in and of itself paradoxical, that's all. Which is contradictory only because the subjective perceptual view is wholly transcended while in Godhead mode, and then, subjectivity is re-integrated into the "normal" individuated pattern of oneself. The remembrance lingers to change our perspective and kindle a desire to expand even further and travel far deeper into the core of the present moment, the pulse of the here & now.

I believe God is Omniscient... words and concepts are just human fabrications. But we use what we have available to utilize. And nothing can be truly said that is even close to approximating in written words or ideas... anything objective about the Divine (again, the irony).

Lao Tzu wrote:
The Tao that can be spoken of with words is not the eternal Tao.

Yet, we Inuit much more than can be adequately expressed in linguistic terms, mathematic equations or even poetry. Still, we glean as much as we open ourselves up to glean.

Nicholas Tesla wrote:
If you want to find the Secrets of the Universe, Think in terms of Energy, Frequency and Vibration.

Agreed. God as a Unified Field or Eternal Grid, is animating the expression of the universal in terms of energy, frequency, light and vibration. I feel that consciousness is the avenue to attune to these emanations, and such focus often facilitates a deeper understanding of the inter-meshing of the fabric of reality and existence as it blooms through the myriad dimensions and multiplicity of planes of existential being. So to speak... in a proverbial nutshell of sorts. Wink

Sorry jamie, I cast a label on you and that's totally uncool. My bad and I offer my sincere apologies, Sir.

Silly me... and sarcasm is my favorite kind of humor! But Neo-Pantheist is just a twelve lettered word, after all. Be well and continue to shine brightly, my friend. Thumbs up

I think a lot of people confuse 'god' with their own 'superego'. Thats why they feel judged and guilty, unable to match their projected perfectionism.

Regarding the view that god is a term meant to express the absolute totality of existence (a view I am inclined towards), this includes many things that are unpleasant - violent, horrifying, etc... At least from the perspective of humans. So much of the mysteries of existence are beautiful, to me at least, however the name of the game for all of the biological world is competition for survival. Any cursory review of a nature documentary shows animals and plants, even microbes violently competing for survival and resources. Biology is bloody business.

I just think its interesting to consider the spectrum of this universal field of energy that makes us all up manifests itself in so many ways that are beautiful and so many manifestations that are appalling - to most human experience.

In short, if God is everything, then God is as much supernovas and rainbows as it is dictators and child molesters.
Human perspectives color these experiences as good things or bad things, regardless I think that it's important to see that the god that is all things... Is all things.

For those who have not read it:

GOD ON A TRAIN

And:

God's Debris

Both fascinating easy reads.

Enjoy!
JBArk is a Mandelthought; a non-fiction character in a drama of his own design he calls "LIFE" who partakes in consciousness expanding activities and substances; he should in no way be confused with SWIM, who is an eminently data-mineable and prolific character who has somehow convinced himself the target he wears on his forehead is actually a shield.

A missing puzzle piece with a thousand names, upon which all hinges. The most fundamental of fundamentals, a paradox upon which all existence hinges.

See, when I try to discuss something like this I can't seem to get my point across like you just did. People assume I'll saying God is evil or something. It tests my patience when I have discussions about God and religion, to say the least Smile

^This, indeed.

Radical Ontic Structural Realism. Look it up (OSR review). And then add to that the fact that there is no reason to believe in a fundamental level to the universe (Plank's constant is a post-hoc computational brick wall, nothing more).

It is turtles all the way down, albeit, turtles fully instantiated by something perhaps quite like a multidimensional extrapolation of the Mandelbrot set.

In fact, everytime I explore a deep zoom of the Mandelbrot set I always have the uncanny sensation of staring into the soul of "god" (read: Math).

So yeah, Math.
