Having had no real luck with various glass pipes and desiring a proper breakthrough, swim decided to give the smoking method a little more thought.

What he expected from the device:
- hold enough vapor so that it can be inhaled in one toke
- minimal loss. no cold glass walls for condensation.
- metal heating plate - more even distribution of heat than glass
- easy to use
- simple and inexpensive

He came up with the following idea:
Take a 1 Liter plastic bottle and cut out the bottom. Over the hole in the bottom put an empty can that fits tightly. Don't seal the gap. It will allow just enough air flow. The bottom of the can is heated with a lighter until everything is evapped.

What do you think?

morning dimitri,

I think you should just get a nice glass bong and infuse some herb/leaf, its completely fool proof and if you infuse your herb at a ratio of 1:1 I think its impossible to fail to smash reality.

Your device uses conduction which is a poor method of heating when using DMT, it will work but its certainly not going to be optimal.

As usual 3rdI is right, enhanced leaf is the way to go if you don't have access to proper vaping tool. I suppose you might have some issues with melting plastic from both the bottle and the inner coating of the tin can you're using. If you're adamant on going with this ROA I'd strongly advice against the plastic bottle, substitute it with a glass one (use the acetone & string bottle cutting method) and the tin can with something that won't release chemicals when heated.

swim just tried it with a threshold dose, somewhere below 5mg and it hit him remarkably hard considering the amount. No visuals or sounds, but quite an altered feeling. He is looking forward to testing it with a proper dose. The spice vaporized cleanly without signs of burning.

About the plastic melting, yeah he thought about that, but so far there are no signs of anything melting but the spice. The side wall of the can hardly gets more than lukewarm. There may be problems though when one has to heat it up longer for larger doses.

Why do you think conduction is not a suitable method for vaporization? I thought direct contact with the flame was to be avoided. Metal dissipates heat more evenly than glass. Also there is the problem of condensation on cold glass walls, while I believe it is not so bad with thin plastic walls.

Conduction works but not as well as convection. I'm sure your device will work and if your happy with it then crack on, but I feel that DMT is very precious and I try to go for optimum vaping.

Plus even if it works it still looks horribleRazz Very happy

You're right about the looks, but first of all it has to work. I can embellish it later if I feel the need to. Twisted Evil

The large chamber seems to work much better than previous small ones. Perhaps I could adapt my method, but I'd rather adapt the device to fit my needs. Laughing

About the convection: I have to look into that, but so far it seems to work just fine.

Despite its humble appearance, this device seems to work very well.

Loaded up some leftovers that had condensed in a pipe that didn't work so well. Didn't weigh it but eyeballed perhaps 10-20mg. Waited until everything evapped, then took it in one toke. Felt much smoother than out of the small glass pipe that has been used before without success. Was able to hold it in pretty long without having to cough despite not being a regular smoker.

Would rate the fx 2-3 on the Shulgin scale. Significant fractals and pulling towards the unknown but not quite a full experience. Felt quite similar to shrooms, even in duration, although actually much shorter. Quite positive, had to smile the whole time of the coming down phase.

Considering the spice had been sitting 5 1/2 (!) years in darkness at room temp with normal oxygen exposure, the fx were quite remarkable. Next try will be an even higher dose. Level 4 is the goal. But there's no rush. A couple of level 3 experiences before won't hurt.

Once again, there are no signs of plastic or coating melting, although a can without inner coating is preferred. Conduction through sufficiently thick metal for even distribution of heat seems to work quite well, unlike through glass.
