After a lengthy period of study, research and postulation I am finally ready to begin my first extraction. I have chosen Cyb's STB Salt Tek (newbie friendly and set for small increments) and have my rootbark. In order to facilitate a good learning curve I have both MHRB and ACRB since they have some slight differences in the process. I am keenly interested in the differences between the two, as well as the differences in the end result.

If successful with Cyb's STB Salt Tek, then I will also try his advanced addendum to it and an A/B to see which I am more comfortable with.

Today I am going shopping for proper glassware and I will update this thread as my first extraction progresses. I know I could use household glassware with no issues but there is something absolutely enjoyable about graduated cylinders, beakers and test tubes. Chemistry is after all, enjoyable.

The hardest part will likely be the search for proper solvents that are clean and evaporate well. I do however have the benefit of a local chemistry supply, the same place I intend to get my glassware. I will peruse their solvents, bases and acids while holding out no major hope.

((Sorry for the wording issues, and thanks for the mod edit! Red removed (hard on the eyes), post edited and extended, but message about my initial wording received >^_^< ))

"Drop Out--detach yourself from the external social drama which is as dehydrated and ersatz as TV. Turn On--find a sacrament which returns you to the temple of God, your own body. Sounds good.

If you come in to any real problems finding your solvent you can always use Ronsonol lighter fluid. I have used it in a pinch, it's clean(here in Canada) and works but I don't like using it cause it takes so long to evaporate. Always do an evap test on whatever solvent you do get before you use it. I still do an evap test on the brand of solvent I use every time, just in case they go adding something without telling me.

I find that spice made from ACRB it more enjoyable, if you pull out everything then spice made from MHRB in the same way.

Wish you luck.
