OK,
I ran 500 grams of MHRB thru shaggy's tek, then did 6 limonene pulls. I did the pulls while the polar layer was still hot. Then I added FASI over a 12 hour period until it stopped clouding the limonene.
What precipitated out and how it precipitated is what is interesting. Almost immediately a reddish layer formed on the bottom of the beaker. But with the later additions there was a fluffy white precipitate that remained floating in a 1 inch layer at the bottom of the beaker above the red layer.
I poured off the limonene and white fluffy crystals thru a buchner funnel, exposing the bottom as a solid, rust brown crusty layer that remained on the bottom.
The brown layer was scraped off the bottom and broken up. It was crusty with a little bit of embedded crystal sparkle. It weighed 5.3 grams after drying for half an hour (there may still be some limonene clinging to it)
The white fluffy product weighed 2.8 grams.
I am kind of pinching myself. Either I accidentally hit on a way to separate the jungle spice from some nearly pure DMT fumarate, or I added the FASI too fast and got a huge precipitate of pure fumarate crystals. I am hoping its the former.
