So I got these 2 cuttings from a friend. 2 young Cannabis plants.

I grow them facing the south, making maximal use of the available sunlight.
I've repotted them to a larger pot and watered them dayly.

I was wondering if any of you know what nutrients would help these 2 plants grow fast and tall as well as make lots of psychoactive cannabinoid compounds(THC, Cannabidiol and whatever else is blissfull)

I understand there are specialised Cannabis-nutrients but they cost rediculously much & I would prefer a more natural, low cost approach. I guess what I want to know is:

What chemical compounds do Cannabis plants need to grow fast, strong and tall?
What do they need to produce plenty of THC, Cannabidiol and other desirable compounds?

And finally: In what natural sources can these compounds be found?
I hope to make a nutrient tea of these natural sources, cool it down, strain it through a filter & feed the remaining liquid to my plants now and then.

I was also thinking of adding a plant-based fungicides in the tea to combat & prevent any molds growing in/on the Cannabis plants. I heard both Cinnamon & Garlic contain compounds with fungicidal properties, so perhaps I could mix that into the tea. Any thoughts?

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

I mulch seaweed I collect off the beach into my soil when I pot them, and I give all my plants seaweed teas I make and some organic fish/worm fertilizers. Im not into doping plants with artificial isolated nutrient mixes and crystals etc so I cant comment on that. I also produce a lot of rich compost and added some to my potting mix.

If the PH is right you should not get parasitic fungus I think..I think often people freak out when they grow plants becasue they see mycelium in the soil etc and try to kill it, but plants need mycelium in the soil to thrive..so be aware of that..there are many species of symbiotic fungus that live in the soil around the roots of other plants that help shuffle nutrients..

Some people also like to make compost teas for their plants and water them with it a bit and spray it all over the foliage.
Long live the unwoke.

For vegitative growth your going to need something higher in nitrogen (NPK, nitrogen phosphorus potasium) so look at the nutriants bottle for the npk value and make sure you get one with a higher N value to vegetative & when you switch to flower use one with a higher P value. Now I'm sure someone will give you a specific brand or recomend a specific formula such as the Lucas formula which is the least effciant method I have crossed I should add. so that being said I wouldn't listen to specific things like "hey buy advanced nutriants this and that" those remarks are much ignorance as most people have only used one or two products so they recommend one out of the two but that's not a very large range of experience.... Now if you wanna make your own just google "Fatman" and "nutes" and you will find post after post Smile

Also keep the ph correct otherwise nutes will be the last of your problems, about 95% of the time when someone has "issues" with Mj its caused by the ph being off

Now will you be using distilled / RO water or tap?

EDIT : ahh Jamie you got here before I did Very happy !!!

Sofar I have used tap water. I have no destiller. Not really within my budget ATM.
Will Reverse Osmosis systems be cheap? Or easy to make yourself?

The problem I've been having sofar is a type of white mold that grows on the leaves and I've noticed a little of it on the stems too. I wouldn't want to harm the beneficial fungi in the soil. Could vapors of Cinnamon oil & garlic oil washing over the infected leafs & stems kill the white mold without harming the fungi in the soil?

Tap will be fine unless you notice your having bad salt build up or going deficient, and you can buy distilled by the gallon or liter for like 50 cents, and the mold you speak of is it the white powdery type of mold?

2jttz is correct. You might want to look into Tomato plant food as it is usually cheap and Cannabis likes much of the same nutes as Tomato plants do. Use the vegetative growth first to make strong healthy tall plants, then the bloom for when they start to bud. Do you know what strain you have and what percentage Indica vs Sativa the strain you have is? This will help determine if you are going to have stout short bushy plants or long slender tall ones. Sativas are usually the long tall ones and Indicas the short stout bushy ones, but there are many hybrids out there. Always helps to know what you are grown to know what to expect. Good luck and keep us posted on progress.
Let us declare nature to be legitimate. All plants should be declared legal, and all animals for that matter. The notion of illegal plants and animals is obnoxious and ridiculous.

Bat guano!!

I like to do the organic thing. You don't get as big of buds (indoors with organic, at least) but it's very good weed. For vegetative growth I use seaweed/fish fertilizer from homie deppo, and a few weeks before I begin adding in bat guano and use that mix of the two through the grow. The seaweed seems to be a nice balance of nutes for the plant, and bat guano has a (rightly so) good reputation. The nice thing about organic fertilizers is that it's near impossible to burn the plant with over fertilizing.

Be sure to go with just plain water a few weeks before harvest to flush out any excess nutrients. This makes the weed tastier and easier burning.

Thanks for all the advice everyone!

2jttz: Indeed it is the white powdery mold. Don't know the english name for it. At first it looked a bit
like THC crystals but uppon closer inspection it wasn't oily or shiny & crystaline, but like a dull, pale white powder.

Mitakuye: I really wouldn't know what strain it is. I just got 2 cuttings from my friend. I'll ask them if they know what strain it is. I'll try finding some tomato nutrients. Perhaps Hops(Humulus Lupulus) nutrients would be good to my plants too since Hops is from the same family as Cannabis.

Mr.Peabody:
Actually there are some bats around here and now that it's nearing summer they come out at night. There's also alot of
birds around here. I'm guessing their Guano will be just as nutritious to my plants? I've been thinking of building a little bird feeding house with seeds suspended in nets & sticks for them to sit on and a large bowl under it to catch the Guano. I feed them, they feed my plants. I could cut up some pieces of fruit to lure in the bats at night too.

Sounds good! You can buy composted guano, too. It's a bit pricey for a bag, but a little goes a long way. I usually use about 2 spoonfuls per gallon of water.

Please DO NOT use bird poop, it is full of pathogens and nasty shtuff, bags on the other hand are fine. And the powdery type is I believe from being far to dry, aka raise your humidity once you lose the mold, don't use neem on that stuff as it won't work, I'd google and or wait for someone to chime in on how to get rid of that. Maybe some type of fungicide

And on the nutes, you can use all purpose miracle grow, that npk ratio should be fine for vegetative growth from my experience. Although if you go with miracle grow start light as they always mix there nutes Alittle on the hot side.
And again make sure your ph is on par or your going to have a sad looking plant and a head ache Very happy

Also I just read your first post and saw you water them everyday, don't over water them.... They get really sad. Just water when the first two or three inches or so of soil is dry or if the leaves start to droop due to needing water

Id use bird shit over mircale grow anyday. Miracle grow is just a nutrient deficient weird looking bunch of blue crystals. It has a few nutrients and then is def in everything else and grows plants totally mineral def etc..

Miracle grow is like gardening for dummies..no offence to anyone, I used it in the past as well but if you have to use mircale grow you need to learn more.

If you do use it, make sure you flush the plants really well otherwise your flowers will burn not too well and taste like garbage.

Not to start and argument but Iv never had an issue with any miracle grow products infact iv had more issues with "designer" nutes than MG, and to say that those who use miracle grow have more to learn is pure ignorance. Now ill agree miracle grow isn't the best nutes in the world but it works just fine, when I used mg I couldn't tell the difference between mg and other nutes When it came to the final product Smile
Now I'm speaking specifically about "chemical" Fertilizers as I don't use organic for alot of different reasons .

"and to say that those who use miracle grow have more to learn is pure ignorance"

Hey just stating my opinion and I stick by it. You will never grow food as nutrient dense with miracle grow as you will with properly composted soil and organic whole nutrient sources that have complete full spectrum mineral/nutrient balance like that found in wild, dynamic living ecosystems.

If you just want weed thats gunna get you super high then go ahead. I would rather have something that is nutrient dense, including all of the minerals that a plant would normally be taking up..especially a leafy green plant that I intend to juice as a medicinal food source.

Miracle grow will never ever match a good topsoil composted with seaweeds and rock dusts and animal maneur.

I have grown many many fruits and vegetables in miracle grow, and then in this other way..there is a BIG difference in how the two end up tasting.

It is a pretty invasive way to garden too..its not good for that crap to wash off into the rest of the environment..and they are owned by Scotts, who is in with Monsanto and they are the exlusive agent for Round-up and no organic farmers is going to want to support that..and if you dont like monsanto you should not support that either. Chemical ferts leach off into waterways more than organic ferts and cause algea to bloom in the water in a way that is not coherant with the rest of the system. It builds up salts in the soil that take a good long while for rain to wash away so that keeps going downstream for some time..Your never going to build topsoil using miracle grow either..

Intelligent gardening is non-invasive perma and polycultural gardening..and noone doing perma culture or polyculture is going to get near miracle grow, yet their food always tastes the best.

Again the food/fruits of your labor tasting the best or better is purely subjective BUT
I would tend to agree with you if your growing out doors. I guess I should have stated that I was referring to indoor growing . if you are growing out side organic is a far more superior way to go, but indoor organic is more of a headache than its worth in my experience Smile

Now on the Monsanto topic, no I highly dislike them. I mix my own chemical nutes, again I don't used those out doors except in my raised and lined beds ( movable just Incase of frost). Again I don't do much out door gardening as most of my plants are ones that can not and will not survive in my climate (Alittle to chilly at night and super low humidity) as they are from tropical regions and I'm far from any tropical area Very happy

Whenever my Mint plants loose leafs I let them dry out, crumble them and sprinkle them on the top-soil of my Cannabis plants as nutrients. I did this before with the previous (my first)Cannabis plant I grew and it grew nice and fast and ended up smelling and tasting somewhat like mint.

I have access to horsemaneur too, but I'm a little concerned about harmfull molds growing in the soil. Also, at night, my plants are put indoors and horse maneur would stink up the entire room.

Maybe I'll score some Horse manuer, put it in a pot with water and boil it for a long time.
The prolonged heating should kill any pathogens present in the maneur & dissolve all the usefull mineral nutrients into the water. Then I could filter it and feed this shit-tea to my plants. Does that sound like a wise plan?

Also, I read that Urine contains phosphor. Perhaps Horse Urine is significantly richer in Phosphor than Human Urine. Would Urine not be a good nutrient for Cannabis plants too? Especially in the flowering stage? If not, then what are good, rich natural sources of phosphor?

Help! 2 of my 3 plants are nowsuffering from some black type of mold.
Black spots covering the leaves. First I thought maybe some dewdrops acted
as lenses to magnify the morning sun and make tiny little burns. But then
it just kept growing. Like the black spots on a ripening banana.

I removed almost all of it's leaves as they were infected.
Now they're growing back, but the infection is again spreading

Does anyone here know how I get rid of this mold ASAP?
