I had my first experience with DMT this weekend. I was visiting a girl who is a friend but not a girlfriend. She knew that I dabbled in some drugs and that I smoked a bit of pot every day, and when I picked her up to go off on our weekend she asked if I had ever done DMT. I told her I had never even heard of it, much less tried it. I asked if it was dangerous and she indicated there had never been any deaths associated with it. So when we got to our room, she got out a little baggie that had a couple of small rocks. She used a small pipe normally used for pot and put some cigarette ashes in the bottom of the bowl and then placed a very small rock on top of the ash. She gave me the pipe and put a lighter to it and told me to take a short hit like I would pot hold it as long as possible, then just lay back and enjoy. I did as told and layed back and there was a very nice rush that seemed to last way to shortly. I loved the feeling but wanted it to last an hour at least, not just 10 minutes. My friend did the same and seemed to enjoy it as well. We did this twice more spread out over a few hours, always with the same enjoyment. But that little baggie was gone and I commented it was like coke in that the high was great but lasted just a short time.. The next day she went and got another little baggie. This time my friend seemed to take a bigger hit and she went and laid down on the couch. I wasn’t paying attention to her, but when she came down she explained what she had seen, many of them as described by other users. The geometric shapes, the Egyptian type faces, and lots of vivid colors. She also seemed quite shaken and said she wasn’t sure if she wanted to do anymore. So it was my turn. I did as she did and took a little deeper hit and lay down on the bed and closed my eyes. The initial rush was stronger, and then there were some hallucinations, mine were mainly very colorful circles moving around. But they subsided after a very short time. The high was still there for a while longer, but I was pretty much back to normal in a little over 10 minutes. Again a very nice little trip but way to short. So far DMT was nothing like the mushrooms that I had done decades ago while in the military. Now that was a trip!
The next morning when I got up my friend was on my laptop beginning to watch a video about DMT, the spirit molecule. Although informative I got bored with it as I wasn’t really impressed with the drug. But my friend was still obviously shaken as to her experience the day before that she continued to research the subject. She showed me one that had lots of pictures that artists had drawn of things people had seen while on a DMT high. And then it showed the subjects while they were taking their hits of the drug, and they were taking proper heavy hits on the pipe.
I told my friend that I wanted my trip to be like what was described and maybe that’s what I needed to do was take a few deep hits of the stuff, but we were out of stuff again. The next morning my friend took the car to go run a few errands and said she would be back soon. A couple of hours later she came back and said she was going to give me what I wanted. I had to get my mind out of the gutter very quickly as she handed me the pipe, and instead of a little rock of the stuff, she had crushed up a good amount of the stuff and it pretty much filled the small bowl that it was in. So I put the lighter to it, took two very deep hits, holding the second one as long as I could and then lay down on the bed. Immediately there was the greatest rush of a high that I have ever experienced. I closed my eyes and within seconds the hallucinations started. Lots of geometrical shapes, a labyrinth of tunnels that i seemed to be falling through and at every turn in the tunnel was a face smiling at me. My breathing did become very irregular, probably from the varied speed of what I was seeing and I became conscious of it and concerned. Then even with my eyes still closed I was seeing people around me. And i was hearing faint sirens. I determined in my mind that my friend had called the paramedics from being worried about my breathing. My mind told me that she had probably told them what I had smoked and so it seemed as if they knew just to wait until I came down. There was a short period of paranoia that when I came down I would be arrested, but then the hallucinations got even stronger and I soon forgot about the people The images of smiling faces and objects seeming to be hurled at me got so intense that I had to open my eyes to see if that would make them go away. What happened next was unreal. There seemed to be a huge white spider web like thing hovering above me and it covered about half of the room that we were in. I was awed at the detail of the stitching. Then I looked over at the door to the room and there was a real life size of a body with eyes lit up, I took a closer look at it and it very much looked like my mother and she was crying. I had to look away. The web hovering above me seemed to be getting thicker and hovered closer. Then there did seem to be the white light that people have described, but in this occassion it seemed to be shadowed by something as the full light did not appear. What did seem to be shining through was being batted at by some sort of creature that was next to me, but I never got a good look at him as the web seemed to be getting much closer and I was paying all of my attention to that. All of a sudden the web seemed to morph into a shape that was like a large wasp. I had to look away, and looked diretly at a picture on the wall which was moving as if there were an earthquake happening. But what was really fasinating was the movement of the characters in the picture. I continuted to look at the picture because I did not want to look at the wasp. Then all of a sudden out of the bathroom, which had a small light on, flies, bees or wasps, not sure which, started flying out towards me and as i looked up the web above me that resembled the wasp had come close enough that i felt it was going to pick me up and fly away with me. I had to close my eyes. There were still the colorful images, and then what seemed like hula hoops began flying all around me. The hallucinations seemed to appear to being to fade so I opened my eyes again. The wasp seemed to have faded back into the big spyder web again and had hovered further above me. I looked at the door and my mother was gone. Still a lot of colors and stuff moving about, but I realized that I was finally coming down. When I finally sat up, I took a deep breathand the only word that came out of my mouth was “AWESOME”. I sat there for a few mintues as I was exhausted. After a few minutes I asked my friend how long I had been out and she told me it was 15 minutes. It really did feel more like 2 hours.
This was written 24 hours after my “trip” and I am marveled at how much I still think about the experience. Do I have any desire to want to do it again? Yes. But will I? No. That was a once in a lifetime experience that I do not think can ever be equaled. Yes, there were some frightening parts of it, all hallucinigns have them. But never have I seen such detailed things that have come from nowhere. I will remember it for the rest of my life.
If you are into hallucinigns and have not experienced DMT yet, you really need to. The best I have ever had and the great thing there was no 12 hour come down of guilt involved that I have experienced with other mind altering drugs. It may only last 15 minutes, but trust me that is long enough.
