This was my first offical run and sampling of refined spice of any kind! YEAH!
It has been slimey cactus crude up to this point in my life. I don't know who San Pedro was but he must have left a bad taste in everyones mouth to name such plant after him
I did a vinegar acid extract, defat, and went with citric acid saturated water for the final pulls.
After evaporating down to a glob of tan goo I just washed the evap. plate with pink lemonaide and tested the results of my first tekky work.
Comparision:
34g powder to Crude: over the top intensity and not quite breakthrough but shamanic door ways open for me here.
34g power to crude to Mesc. Citrate with 1 defat /mixed with lemonaide: after 1 hour a picture appeared to be very tilted on the wall next to me... then it wasnt. OOOOkkk, that was a 'matrix moment' but it was the only one for the night and I had a nice playful upbeat mood (2 hours maybe) and the music did sound just a bit better than normal with my inhibitional levels a bit lower than normal. Music set it off and made the conscious mind more aware of what was going on.
Personal intensity rating...
34g powder to Crude: 7 out of 10 (that is a dirty 7)
34g powder extract with 1 defat: 3 out of 10 (but it was much cleaner and psyche friendly)
It reminded me just how light and playful life can be
After thoughts...
I am sure I didnt get all my spice and I can see why the given teks call for 2-3x the dry amounts of material now. You will loose some, but what you get is good, and cleaner. I like the refined cactus much better than the crude extract... not only for taste! and that would be enough for anyone to want to defat but the effects were so much cleaner and that is the icing on the cake in my book. (maybe it should be my goal?)

Tek: Vinegar soak 12 hours, 1 hour boil, strain, strain, strain, based (sodium carbonate), defat, pulled with citrus water, evaped, mixed with pink lemonaide. (3/4 cup) Light alk flavor under the lemonaide bite and definatly an after taste to let you know the spice was there
