Fractals!

When I trip in nature I always recognize these fractal patterns in almost everything. Probably because I've seen this YouTube video before my trip, but I didn't really understand the full meaning until I understood it during a mystical expirience.

We are surprisingly similar.

Nature is the embodiment of mathematical laws of harmony, all of the elements strive towards pure perfection only to be altered by all the surrounding factors into "imperfect" organic forms. If you look at plants with "fresh" eyes you can almost see the "life" meridians that they grow into.

The most amazing thing is that geometry that underlies nature is the same throughout the universe. A circle, sphere, triangle, tetrahedron, etc. are the same on each planet, and there are only 5 basic platonic solids that make up all 3d matter throughout the cosmos. Same with the golden ratio and the fibonacci and logarithmic spirals that are scattered everywhere you look, even inside your minds eye Smile

For something that was supposed to come together randomly out of complete chaos, it is all so super structured, precise and simply perfect. Although when you look at some of what we as humans get up to, our waste and destruction, you wonder how such a perfect universe gave birth to such weird and self destructive creature. The positive thing is we are only at the very beginning of the evolution of consciousness so hopefully there is time to sort ourselves out, and find harmony with Nature Smile

I haven't had time to watch the video yet. That being said...

When someone mentions fractals, 2 ideas pop into my head:
1. self-similarity
2. infinite complexity

A pattern can be self-similar without being infinitely complex, or it can be infinitely complex without being self similar. I think these 2 properties are interesting and useful on their own, but I don't think that their combination is particularly prominent in nature or particularly useful in perception. I think that the combination is mathematically and visually beautiful, but it is also usually synthetic as I have experienced it.
Every day I am thankful that I was introduced to psychedelic drugs.

To me, the fact that the superstructure, that is parallel on dimensionalities, and has similarities on different dimensionalities, is not surprising at all, or makes me wonder if there was some external conscious force driving it to be as such, or a creationist approach.

I think, that what you describe as common on scales/dimensions both big and small, ie mathematically model-able phenomenon, thats just order descending upon what was once pure chaos.

Its evolutionary physics one might say, the fact that these imperfect representations of a driving "pure, or perfect" mathematical pattern exist.

They may have as well once not, and due to mere random, or quantum energy fluctuations, provided the momentum for evolution at its most basic level, energetic. Some things worked, some did not. what did thrived, and that's why we have the laws of nature, physics, and energy that we do now.

The fact that its so interconnected, and the mathematical representations of the reality we perceive match up on such varying scales, only affirms my belief that the reason there's such fundamental mathematical commonalities between natural phenomenon, is because it evolved to the point its at now.

And the imperfection, could either be it hasn't evolved to such a degree that we perceive it as perfect (though idealistically an impossibility. We might be limited by our perception of perfection to be fooled into thinking it exists, but imho its not achievable). OR the imperfections, could be the result of random quantum energy fluctuations, chaotic influences, stirring up the order that relatively exists in our observable reality/universe.

In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health of one's own place and economy.
In such a society, also, our private economies will depend less upon the private ownership of real, usable property, and more upon property that is institutional and abstract, beyond individual control, such as money, insurance policies, certificates of deposit, stocks, etc. And as our private economies become more abstract, the mutual, free helps and pleasures of family and community life will be supplanted by a kind of displaced citizenship and by commerce with impersonal and self-interested suppliers...
The great enemy of freedom is the alignment of political power with wealth. This alignment destroys the commonwealth - that is, the natural wealth of localities and the local economies of household, neighborhood, and community - and so destroys democracy, of which the commonwealth is the foundation and practical means.” - Wendell Berry

..this is one of the fundamental questions of the philosophy of mathematics..

is Maths a way of describing phenomena in nature (the universe) , or is it an inherent part of nature (from which the universe arises) ?

this is examined by various philosophers/mathematicians including John D. Barrow in
PI in the Sky: Counting, Thinking and Being..

What fascinates me is the fact that that such unreal complexity is derived from such simplicity. This could mean that chaos at its very heart is pure order.
You would imagine that first came the "logos" or the law and then came the manifestation of time, matter and energy based on primal geometries and ratios, even though they are inseparable from the "logos".

The prime geometries and mathematics are in theory a universal constants of the 3rd dimension, so each advanced cosmic civilisation discovered the same principals and forms as part of their evolution.

Geometry and math are the true universal languages. If we ever come in contact with some intergalactic intelligent life we would understand each others geometry and math once we get the symbols worked out, a good common starting point Smile
