hey all,

My friend told me of an experience he had the other night, and he doesnt quite know what to make of it.

To me it sounds like a form of sleep paralysis, but it's weird.

Here's what happened:

"I was sleeping so i wake up, still half asleep, and start hearing those "zing" sounds, that ringing sound, and its getting closer and closer and louder, just before it gets the closest it can, i hear those vibrations and then a voice (female) says: "I am Blior" and then the zing became a flat tone, but really loud. Then it felt like something crawled up from the back of my neck down to the front, and my whole left side went numb. From mid chest until past my neck."

Any ideas? Was it sleep paralysis? He says he was too frightened to move but that doesn't tell me if he could actually move or not. He was lying on his side.

Any help for my buddy would be appreciated! he is lank freaked out calling it an attack and stuff Shocked

That definitely sounds like sleep paralysis. I've had a somewhat similar episode before. You're just waking up in the middle of REM stage(where the rest of your body is paralyzed) making you unable to move and still slightly in your dream, if you know what I mean. Recommend to him melatonin before bed.

hmm thought so.. Just never heard of an entity speaking to the paralysee? before. Lol.

I told him he should let go next time and try to project instead of fight it.

Thanks fairbanks! Big grin

To me it sounds like sleep paralysis.
I've had really weird things happen like someone dragging their nails along my back while
I'm immobile and hallucinating limbs and there's always a malevolent "presence" there.

That chest feeling is (pressure, numbness) is something a lot of people (not me though) experience
during sleep paralysis.

I'm always scared as hell and do everything I can to move but it's impossible. after some minute/minutes of this
I wake up.

It does sound like sleep paralysis. It's more common on your back, I've been told, but I've had it at least on one occasion lying on my side as well. Sometimes it's very strange and you don't realize that you are paralized because of the strange sensations of fear and the auditory halucinations. Crazy things can happen in this state - you can see entities, yourself, your dark twin and if you manage not to wake up entirely from this state but rather fall back asleep you can enter a somewhat lucid dream state.

So yeah, even though it doesn't fit the bill 100% I'd say it was sleep paralysis.

Hi Changalvia,

It sounds similar to the sleep paralysis experience I had. The audio hallucination of the increasing sound is similar, also a voice speaking. I did not have much awareness of what was happening to the rest of my body, only that large hands were around my neck and choking me quite hard.

But most reports of sleep paralysis talk about heaviness in the chest or the feeling of weight on one's chest.

I would reassure him that what he experienced is pretty common, world wide. You can find a lot of first hand experience reports of sleep paralysis online, I'm sure someone else has experienced something very similar to him.

Here are some links you can show him: http://www.end-your-slee...eep-paralysis.html#share

Not that easy to just let go, it happens so fast it's kind of hard to not just get spooked. Maybe if you looped that car crash scene from fight club and played it while falling asleep Laughing. JUST LET GO!

vivid entity hallucinations are pretty common with sleep paralysis and usually tend towards a malicious-intruder nature.
