Mescaline freebase isn't supposed to be soluble in naphta.

There are other alkaloids in cacti like pellotine, anhalonine and lophophorine which could be naphtha soluble as they are soluble in ether. Naphta sometimes used as a substitute for ether/petr. ether.

So it could very well be that in the linked thread other alkaloids were extracted . Anhalonine (also present in trichocereus cacti) is supposed to be inactive in dosages as high as 100mg.
