It's still early days and more data needs to be analysed, and further experimental research into this will delayed as CERN is being shut down for repairs and upgrades until 2015. But the mass of the Higgs particle could be quite an interesting value regarding the possible future of the universe.

So in a cosmic sense this could hint at an endlessly cycling universe, without beginning or end, cycling ad infinitum. Interestingly this completely aligns with the Hindu perception of the universe.

It seems to be congruent with the Daoist philosophies on the nature of the universe too.

This is so cool, my personal philosophy is that this is a eternally cyclic universe and now I have a little more scientific proof. I mean I know this is early days but what would this mean for entropy? Living systems trump local entropy, glad science may finally acknowledge that the universe as a whole grows and decays forever.
