So here we go. I'm going to try to keep this short and sweet but this is my experience thus for with this substance.
I believe DMT is a chakra cleanser. I believe most experiences/blockages people suffer from in their life are very simple concepts which are usually clouded and made to seem more difficult by their own ego. I believe the human psyche craves very little when broken down to its fundamental desires.
And I believe most people, especially in western culture, are suffering from serious blockages in their chakras which causes most people to live out shallow/egocentric lives. We're beings who are in essence searching to clear these blockages but do not have tools or spiritual teachings to understand this desire. So we end up chasing our tails, trying to mask this need with shallow pacifiers.
Where DMT comes in:
First DMT easily kills the ego. This is evident within the first moment of a DMT trip when you feel yourself thrown into 'warpdrive'. Warpdrive seems to be your ego shattering and your consciousness making an immediate mind/body connection.
Again, I believe dmt to be a chakra cleanser. It seems to me that that although the experience is different, most people seem to embrace similar concepts or 'lessons' from their DMT trips. I believe DMT helps to cleans chakras by helping to move our own consciousnesses through our chakra gates and through the blockage. Not everyone is the same or have had the same life lessons so what DMT can't break though; it instead helps or mind focus and conceptualize/prime our issues. My bestfriend who recently had a trip where he ended up needing in the end to get up and relieve his bowels seems to be evidence of him clearing his root-chakra. He said it was the hardest breakthrough he had endured and through most of the trip he tried his hardest to 'hold-on'. Evidence of his issues with letting go; which he suffers in his normal life.
Ok, well, I'm going to leave this here. I have more to offer but I believe this is enough for now.. I'd like to gauge the response from others...
I believe that if you're able to let go of your ego fully, at a below conscious level (practice that takes place while not on DMT) while on this substance you'll be able to achieve place of your soul leaving your body, being a part of everything and dimensions occult knowledge.
My experiences have shown me that DMT is not only the central theme for many ancient cultures but also offers dimensions of occult knowledge. I do believe this drug is used by many in secret as to gain wisdom for means to maniacal ends.
Anyways, I'm off!

While I understand what you mean, I think maybe the term "desires" would still implicate the ego at work. From my experience with ego-loss, there was no desire whatsoever. Every"thing" just "was" at it is. There was no "I am" or "I want". Ineffable to put into words, but that's the best I can do right now.

Thanks for the reply ManifestTheMind!
DMT for me reminds me who I am at my core. It helps to focus me like meditation or a long walk.
I wouldn't be afraid of it! Respect the experience but it's still just a substance you're perfectly equipped to handle!

I guess I meant a universal desire far beyond the prisons of our ego! Or, at that point, I believe I was commenting on the human condition! With ego intact just less cluttered!

Sorry to nitpick, it's my ego's OCD.

Interesting theory. I definitely agree with DMT being an ego-buster. Never have I been stripped so simply and quickly of everything I hold on to dearly during waking life, and then being shown how feeble it all really is. That fear of wanting to "hold on" in the beginning was met with one of the most beautiful "goodbyes" I had ever experienced. It was the departure of all that had shackled me. In short, it displayed the insignificance of worry, self-doubt, & fear, as none of them really matter.
There's an undeniable and wordless truth of existence here.
That's what I'm starting to hypothesize about DMT; it's the unrestrained self. Not only is it a plunge into the heart of the interior universe (which I theorize we all previously swam in), but it is in fact your true self, or at least a representation of that self. Basically, it is you without the restraints of your physical body and emotional contradictions, and what's left is the untarnished YOU.
It's a different level of brain programming, because a primal state of existence is all that's left, and it simply feels like eternity. That's the best way I can describe that place. The absence of time was never more certain, and only one force remained: Eternity.

The image that comes to my mind is like putting high pressure water through pipes/tubing. Any blockages that might be there will be pushed out by the pressure pushing on it. Usually when I come back from a journey, I feel cleansed in this way. I have also had journeys where the blockage is too great to be removed. These ones tend to be difficult and uncomfortable. But over time, and with repeated application of pressure, it gets unblocked.

My experiences have shown me that DMT is not only the central theme for many ancient cultures but also offers dimensions of occult knowledge I have to admit it sounds like a rationalization argument for the justification of use as opposed to evidence based claims. Can you provide examples of what occult knowledge might entail and specifically cases where it was obtained and employed to a particular end?

First I'd like to be clear that I have no intent on trying to convince you of anything or justify my use to you. I don't understand why you believe this would be my reason for using DMT with everything else I spoke about? It seems awkward to me that you 'this' is the conclusion you came to. Anyways, it's my own subjective experiences/reading and relating that I feel has offered me this rationalization. Nothing an obviously scientific mind like your self would find objective enough.
