Here are two videos with animations depicting the helical nature of the solar system as it roars through the galaxy, orbiting the galactic center. In the second video, I'd imagine that the galactic plane itself would be helical as the galaxy makes its way through the universe.

Really mind blowing videos!

I'm wondering though how accurate they are, does anyone know? I'm gonna send them to my old astronomy prof and see what he thinks, since a lot of people seem to think the planets orbit more or less on the suns plane unlike the video

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

Beautiful animations, I had seen them a few weeks ago.

About accuracy, and besides how cool the video is, I think it's simply a matter of point of reference. If your reference point is in the middle of the galaxy, the solar system will appear to move as a vortex. If it's in the sun, the planets orbit it. If it's in the Earth, you will have a complicated mess of spheres as in the Ptolemaic system.

The models are relative, but some might be more effective or simple than others when it comes to make predictions. Take for instance Copernicus. He describes an heliocentric model which is simpler and more precise than the geocentric in order to describe planetary orbits, then we consider this model more useful. I didn't find information about observations made with this helical model, and if anything would make it useful (and hence more accurate) beyond the visual neatness would be a prediction and a confirmation.

The solar system is not traveling trough the galaxy in a 90 degree angle but a 60 degree angle.
Is the the sun dragging the planets behind in a 60 degree angle?
Sometimes planets are ahead of the sun in our orbit round the galaxy which makes this theory wrong. This can be seen with telescopes on the ground.

Here's the blog of the producer discussing the video:
http://www.djsadhu.com/t...-solar-system-animation/
(Using a video of Nassim Haramein to push ones theory is not helping
with credibility either)

Here's a debunk of the theory:

And here's DJsadhu's response to the debunk (which does little to address the points being made in the debunk)

Your welcome!

I find almost everything space related interesting to read about and new theories are always
welcome. It's really fun to mess with ones way of perceiving things and turn them upside down...as I guess
most people on "the Nexus" agrees with=)
