Note that both sources doubt the psychoactivity of bufotenine. Bufotenine is a strong visual hallucinogen in my expereince but it is not something desirable..but it does have shamanic potential. I can imagine Bufo marinus being used if it has enough bufotenine to get to a visionary level without too much toxicity from other compounds. Bufotenine is basically useless in my opinion aside from hallucinations so I cant see them using bufotenine toad venoms unless they can reliably build up enough in the system to have visions.
