I'm taking Solid-State Physics this semester, so I'll be learning a lot about crystals. Every day I am thankful that I was introduced to psychedelic drugs.

Believe it or not, I saw this pair of Lightning Ridge black opal cabochons on Facebook. Opals from the Lightning Ridge mine in Australia are very expensive. Especially something rare and unusual like this. I'd venture to guess about $1,000.00 per carat over the counter? This pair likely weigh about 10-12 carats total weight. They show exceptional opalescence and stand apart, as they are streaking through a transparent matrix. These are just gorgeous! I just did a photo shoot, this afternoon, of my collection of crystals (well, provably about 75% of them). I put this display together almost 20 years ago, shortly after returning from our honeymoon. Most of these babies need a good bath and will soon receive one, as I need to move the bookcase to another room and will be cleansing them all. Then, I will be redesigning new patterns and layouts for them. It's always good to share time with them. I honestly feel that I am merely their temporary guardian and custodian. My brief mortal existence will pass quickly and my gems will live on to new moments of experience. Also, I respect their form of existence, their identity and particular place within the mineral kingdom. Each is wonderful and individual. I honor them as living beings, mutually cohabiting this material paradigm. They are like parts of my family, just like my kids, each with it's own unique vibratory personality, each their own color and characteristic. I hope you like "the kids". Any collection grows one rock at a time, my friend. Honestly, I haven't added many new ones over the last few years but I have plenty enough to share my space with. Beautiful collection you have there, Rising Spirit You ever heard about Orgonites ? you could make a good use of some of the babies you got there With these hands I have killed man and destroyed hopes and dreams. But when I open these hands I can hold my wife, make my children laugh and even aid others. It's not the path that we take but the choices that we make along that path that makes us who we are. -Waugriff

Please be a little more specific. I can point you in the right direction if I know which ones you are referring to. OK? Ciao guys, RS There is no self to which I cling, for I am one with everything.

My god RisingSpirit, your crystal collection is as decadent as your thoughtful posts! "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein

Parshvik Chintan wrote:this one That crystal is a bi-colored tourmaline from the Palo Alto mine, in California. It was mined in the mid 1960s. I bought it from an old timer rock hound, at a gem show in the early 1990s, for $450.00. I forget how many grams it weighs but it's a big gemstone. It would be hard to find it's equal for a thousand bucks, these days. The dealer had a six hundred dollar price-tag on the crystal but all I had saved-up at that point in my life was limited to 450 dollars. A lot of money in those days! And no, I am not a trust fund brat. I worked a full-time job, as a jeweler, and lived frugally. Still do... but am underemployed and have a lot less pocket change to toss about.
