Raspberry Pi is blowing my mind right now -- then I find Leap. Looks like 2013 will see huge advances in the way humans interact with computers (at a fraction of the price). Enjoy ... and pre-order while you can! "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored." -A.Huxley

That's pretty slick... I could see how it could be a 3D modeler's delight. How long till we can do this hands-free, with a brainwave headset that weighs less than 3oz? 5 years? 7?

I think i heard about this a while ago, thank you so much for posting it this makes me so happy! I personally cannot wait for when we'll be working and making art Minority Report style, just think about that for a while, the efficiency, the flow, the style..
I spend so much time wishing that I was in a scifi movie that I tend to forget that I'm already in one. We even got a highly advanced organic spaceship for christs sakes, all the rest will follow from that kinda naturally..

That's awesome a1pha. What kind of price range do you think one of those would be in? "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein

Awesome! The Pi, or next generation of Pi, has the potential of being the perfect deepnet anti-censorship node. It would be nice to see a combo Tor/I2P server node built on the Pi to be placed indiscriminately.... everywhere. Have you seen this project? Another day or two and my Pi will work as a pentest device. Not a very good one, but one I can leave behind on a clients' network. Wow, that Leap is amazing. Nemo Amicus had me send the link to him. He says, "Ha! For once I can get the drop on Zarkov!" Thanks a1pha, "But even if nothing lasts and everything is lost, there is still the intrinsic value of the moment. The Leap is pretty neat, and I can picture myself working with that at 200%... but I'm reading about Raspberry Pi and it's an astonishing gadget. The Pi + the $20 solar powered USB hub I was checking the other day (5V, up to 700mA) open too many possibilities to even list here. Thanks for sharing. "The Menu is Not The Meal." - Alan Watts

That is crazy, but in my opinion this was the natural next step for piracy/anonymity/hacking to develop a totally independent web with different hardware, or a piece of hardware developed especially for this. Just like the American army did. I hope I am not being lazy but holding your hands in the air like that for a long time could be...painful.I'd like to see office jobs with Leap. On a side note I can't wait for wirelesses charging to happen.

Shaolin wrote:I'm all ears With such a low power consumption, basically you can have a little computer working off the grid... 700mA is more than sufficient to have a Pi operating, and if additional devices are needed (small USB keyboard, low consumption LCD display, 3G USB Modem...) it's not difficult to find hybrid solar chargers with an output of 2 amps. Other than the simple fact of being physically released for computing, and independent from power lines, you could also set up a web server for multiple purposes, join any distributed computing project or simply share files. Just broadcast from anywhere. Hell, you could easily wear the whole thing to Burning Man. And for offline uses, I dunno... gardening automation, weather station, remote webcam recording... Just lock a few well-positioned pelican cases with your Pi... each hooked to individual DD-WRT routers. As for solar, my idea is a small high-capacity battery inside the case. I imagine getting at lest a few day of power from each charge. Hooked to a solar panel for daytime charging and we are suddenly off the grid. PS - Look at this adorable 1.5" TFT screen! I like how you think It's a cutie... but I don't know if you could use it with the Pi, since the RCA output delivers composite video, that is 720x480i in NTSC, and displaying that in a 240x160 TFT will not turn out good.
