Terence McKenna's Failed Prophecy for 2012

I must say, martin really gets off on bashing this guy. Seems clear to me he takes mckenna's ideas more seriously than intended. I sense a claim to superiority for silly reasons when it's entirely irrelevant. Didn't want to bump the old thread, what do you guys think of all this?

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

This video sums up my feelings about Martin Ball better than words ever could, but in a nutshell I think he's a petty little girlyman with professional jealousy issues.

For the record, anyone (Terrence McKenna included) who actually expected aliens to touch down on December 21st and fly us away to the rapture was/is in need of some serious therapy.

Ratsch said in an interview that even Terrence himself admitted that he never really believed that 2012 was some sort of eschaton. End of story..he had some ideas that he liked to play around with.

Martin Ball is sort of annoying to listen to. Some of his ideas are actaully interesting but his personality is less than appealing and it makes it hard to listen to him for more than like 5 minutes.
Long live the unwoke.

Two things about Martin:

He has a gift, the more seriously he tries to present himself, the sillier he seems. Not everyone can do that. Wink

I suspect he has received more notice for his Terrence bashing than he has for his fractal energy yoga, proclaimed ultimate superiority of 5MEO-DMT, or his insistence that there is only one interpretation of reality that is valid and he is the guy who knows just what it is.
Images of broken light,
Which dance before me like a million eyes,
They call me on and on...

I think he uses bashing Terence's out-there theories as a launch-pad for recognition. He's name dropping, and what he writes about Terence is incredibly uninteresting. Anyone could write about how "wrong" Terence was, although granted not everyone could write as much about it as Martin does.

Now, I don't want to pull a Martin Ball here by simply bashing him and getting recognition for it, because he's not a complete loon. I did enjoy his short book "being human" when I read it a few years ago, and the idea of incorporating fractal movement into yoga isn't that silly. I just think unlike Terence, Martin is WAY too sure of himself and thinks he has all the answers, which is usually a bad sign right off the hop.
