I just had my first trip today with shrooms. It was the most profound experience of my life. Everything I've ever thought about life was... I don't even know.

I got them from some stoner friends, the only place I could find it. I took 2g because I wanted a solid first trip. I have a background in deep meditation, so I entered a meditative state of mind and watched everything come to life. Everything was moving and alive. Everything was rainbow: I saw vibrating waves, a bunch of little hands holding each other or making peace hand signs, a dancing robot, and Finn the Human from Adventure Time, I kid you not. Everything was connected and moving together in so many ways.

I came home and I fixed my life. I hugged my dog, and I talked to everyone I had hurt in any way. I've heard a lot of thoughts and felt a lot of things about our connection to the world. Watching it move with me somehow let me see it.

I was with people who I thought were friends, and one of them stole my weed. How? I can't even imagine how anyone could do that after experiencing what I just experienced. I just don't even know what to think of it. I can't stop thinking: why would this be illegal, who made it illegal, is it the same people who do this, and what should we do about it?

I might be away for a bit as I think about this.

Three weeks ago two of my friends and I went to a ranch in Fredericksburg, Texas, and took what Terence McKenna calls "a heroic dose." Five dried grams. Let me tell you, our third eye was squeegeed quite cleanly. Wow! And I'm glad they're against the law, 'cause you know what happened when I took 'em? I laid in a field of green grass for four hours, going "My God, I love everything." The heavens parted, God looked down and rained gifts of forgiveness onto my being, healing me on every level, psychically, physically, emotionally. And I realized our true nature is spirit, not body, that we are eternal beings, and God's love is unconditional 'n' there's nothing we can ever do to change that. It is only our illusion that we are separate from God, or that we are alone. In fact the reality is we are one with God and He loves us. Now, if that isn't a hazard to this country... Do you see my point? How are we gonna keep building nuclear weapons, you know what I mean? What's gonna happen to the arms industry when we realize we're all one. Ha ha ha ha ha! It's gonna fuck up the economy! The economy that's fake anyway! Ha ha ha! Which would be a real bummer. You know. You can see why the government's cracking down on idea of feeling unconditional love.

Incredible man. Thanks so much for posting this.

Your experience reminds me of a mushroom trip of mine which ended with me lying in a forest meadow under the stars, sobbing, and whispering, "Everything is a gift, thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Words cannot express. My heart goes out to you.

So...

Why, then, are things in talking-ape land so messed up? I don't know. There are a million excuses to make and answers to give but, ultimately, there is no why. Why anything?

Take it easy, do what you can, but I highly recommend you relax where others are concerned. Everyone's doing the best they can based on everything they've experienced so far, even if the best they can do seems awful to us. If you could watch someone's life like a film, including every moment, every thought, it would all make sense, even if you can't condone it.

The real question is, now that you've been to the top of the mountain, what can you bring back down with you into daily life? The people down here are really in dire need of some fresh mountain air, as you've already seen. And I'm right here with you, doing my best as well.

Take care.

It baffles me as well how something that grows naturally in our environment can be made illegal especially when they are harmless as long as the user is responsible. I've had numerous great experiences that changed my life with shrooms. I like the fact that more and more people are opening up to alternate ways of thinking. Just remember they will only help you as long as your helping yourself. It's no cure all for every problem, but it is definitely a great way to gain inspiration, motivation, and get new points of views on your current situations. It can also be a great way to connect with friends. I hope you continue your journey into the world of psychedelics and find it as beautiful as I have. Peace and Light

Seriously. Its like, they take the stuff that kills you, and make it perfectly legal, then take the amazing, life changing, love everything- plants, and make them illegal. i don't get it.

Sure is beautiful isn't it? Sucks about the "friends" stealing your weed. You mentioned coming home and hugging your dog and talking to people you've hurt in any way. That's great, keep up the love daily. Not only will others be happy, but you'll be happy spreading that love. Reminds me of my friend a couple weeks ago when he hippie flipped for the first time (mushrooms+mdma). He was pouring his heart out telling me all these things about people in his life and about love. It was beautiful. Towards the end of his trip he was saying how he's gonna go home and tell his dad he loves him and all this stuff. Psychedelics can really open up your mind and heart, it's amazing.

Sucks they're illegal, but Bill Hicks hit the nail right on the head with that

Really something else! I hope my first experience proves to be just as amazing. For now, meditation is the way.

While it may have been a despicable act, perhaps consider that maybe....just maybe you something bad might have happened had you had your weed to smoke. While pretty unlikely, it's something to consider. Additionally, you might want to try and teach yourself to let go. Let go of the stolen weed, forgive the anonymous thief, forgive the ignorant in power...let it all go. What's happened has happened, and you can intervene on this process of anxiety and angst by trying to forgive and let go.
