Hello all,

A friend of mine keeps bottles of yagé and trichocereus tea and ect. in his fridge.
After a while there will usually get some mold growth on the surface of the tea.
He has thrown out tea in the past that has taken much time to make. This has recently happened again and we scooped the little piece of mold off the surface with a fine strainer, brought it to a boil, and put it back.

Is there anything that can be added to prevent mold growth?
Perhaps some kind of preservative?

Why not just freeze it?

does your friend sterilise the bottle before he fills it and puts in the fridge?

i sterilise my Aya bottles before filling and i have had one in the fridge for a couple of months and its fine.

Will probably freeze from now on.
Guess SWIM needs to use some sterilized glass instead of his empty water bottles.
Had heard it's not good to freeze plastic.

ive had brews in the fridge for many months that never got any mold..little bit of fermentation that just boils right off..nothing that ever hurt me though. Ive drunk some super fermented rue and mimosa brews..
