Hello I just need some help with enhanced leaf. My question is can I just use naphtha to dissolve the DMT and throw in enough MJ and wait until it evaporates?

I have had much bad luck in trying to experience DMT the best results I had were by accident when I put some DMT in my bubbler (no water) and it went down the hole, but I was able to inhale it by putting the flame down the hole as well. I opened my eyes and was bathed in the warmest flames, a woman with hair of golden fire that spiraled out all around her and to me. She opened her arms as if to embrace me, I moved to her and we floated hugging full of love. I felt from within that I had to cherish every moment that I was with her again.

That is the only experience I have had as smoking the stuff is a pain without the right equipment and is also why I am asking about enhanced leaf.

Thank you.

Hi peligropowers.

Welcome to the Nexus, I hope you stay around and we can get to know you better. Your experience sounds great! I had a very similar time trying to get the smoking device correct when I was beginning with DMT. I lost quite a bit down the stem of that bubbler and I would get a taste of it every now and then when finishing a bowl of marijuana in it. There is definitely a bit of a learning curve on getting it right, but after some practice the vaporization technique gets easier.

What interests you? What got you interested in DMT? Did you have any previous psychedelic experience?

To answer your question I am unsure if Naphtha would work for Enhanced Leaf, but you have some other very viable options. Check out the FAQ, Wiki, and A Guide to DMT Enhanced Leaf for all you should need to know about Enhanced Leaf, including tips for smoking techniques and helping to have a breakthrough.

From A Guide to DMT Enhanced Leaf:

Preparation

Weigh the amount of leaf you wish to enhance with DMT at the desired ratio.
Using leaf that is chopped to the consistency which it will be smoked at makes
life easier later on. Pictured is a mixture containing 4 grams of Calea leaf and 3.5 grams
of Brugmansia Sanguinea flower. Weigh the amount of freebase DMT needed to enhance your leaf
to the desired ratio. Thoroughly dissolve the freebase DMT (use about 40mL of solvent per gram
of DMT) in one of the following: 100% Ethyl Alcohol, Acetone or Isopropyl Alcohol.

You want to use a dish with a width that will allow your leaf to sit between 5-10mm high.
Add the leaf to the DMT saturated solvent and swirl it around so all the leaf is spread evenly on
the bottom of your dish. If you need to, add a little more solvent so that the leaf is well
covered. Place the dish somewhere where it will stay undisturbed for several days. It took
about four days for the Acetone to completely evaporate and the leaf to dry in this example
Once dry, the leaf can be weighed. It should be heavier by the amount of freebase DMT that
it is enhanced with.

You might be able to search around the forum to see if anybody else has tried this with Naphtha and if they had success or not.

Welcome to the Nexus! Hope you stick around to join some discussions and share some more of your experiences Thumbs up

Realized a bit too late I posted my question in the wrong place but oh well, thank you for your help VIII.

Everything interests me, after having a lot of fun with salvia DMT caught my interest.
After a few failed attempts at smoking DMT, months past by, and I recently started listening to Shpongle, so now I really want to experience it again and thoroughly!

I had an account here in this forum but I can't remember my user name, so I created a new account but I only posted a few times with my old one so I guess it doesn't matter.

I've tried looking around this forum for help on it but only instructions like the one you posted came up. So I thought I'd get strait to asking.

Failed attempts are quite common early on so I'm glad you were not discouraged by them. Shpongle has been a very nice complement to DMT for me and I can definitely see how it can inspire one to get back to DMT, it sure did for me.

I tried doing a couple searches for you and found the following topics that I think will help you. Personally I've had luck using acetone for making Enhanced Leaf, though it seems 95%+ methanol/ethanol is preferred for Changa as they are better solvents for harmalas.

From the topic: Changa and black smoke - burned spice or trapped naphtha? the member was worried Naphtha was still in the blend.

I'd say soak that batch of changa in some 91-99% iso at least once, but maybe twice.

When I say soak, I mean add the changa to a shot glass or appropriate sized container. Completely cover the changa with alcohol and put this under a fan for it to evap.

Since naptha is a Non-Polar solvent, it should seep out into and on top of the alcohol and evaporate.

That should help you remove any traces of naptha that might be in there.

Just lay it flat on a paper plate for the last run.

Check the changa prep in my sig. for future reference. It'll save ya a lot of undue stress. Pleased

Good luck on saving your changa and Welcome to the Nexus.

Technically any clean-evapping solvent should do the trick, but alcohol or acetone are preferred since they don't have the toxicity of naphtha. There's the possibility of tiny amounts of solvent being trapped inside of the crystals, so it's better to use non toxic solvents. You could even use high proof vodka.

So I have had the enhanced leaf near a heater, most of the naphtha has evaporated, adding some acetone to it and more evaporating will clean it and leave it ready then?

Thank you for your help.

You can do that, a few more hours won't hurt and might clean it up. And you don't want to smoke it if you are not sure it is OK to smoke.

Wait until the naphtha has evaporated completely, soak the leaf again in a little amount of alcohol or acetone (the infused spice crystals will redissolve, releasing any trapped impurities) and wait for the final evap to finish well.

You might want to do it in a container that doesn't have a lot of surface, so not much of the dissolved goods (both spice and cannabinoids) will remain behind stuck in the recipient walls.

I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem, but imo id buy some high proof grain alcohol for the liquor store, or secondly, get 90%+ isopropyl.

Thanks a lot, I got a bit impatient and put some acetone in while there was a still small amount of naphtha. I'll give it a few more days hopefully I haven't screwed up this batch.
