My motivation for making this post is the remarkably low dose with which what I would call a ‘breakthrough’ was possible. Feedback from the more experienced would be welcome. I’ve tried to be matter-of-fact rather than poetic in order to be relatively brief and clear – so apologies if this is a little uglier than the usual romantic trip report.
18 hours without food. 2.5 grams (total) ground Syrian Rue taken in 2 capsules 15 minutes apart, with sliced ginger to mitigate any nausea (no nausea was evident at any point). 22mg freebase DMT fully dissolved in Pepsi (on the supposed basis that DMT phosphate is most readily absorbed) and taken 1 hour after the first SR capsule. Effects noticeable within 10 minutes, fully visually immersive and essentially debilitating within half an hour, and hallucinations subside after approximately 100-120 minutes.
These doses of both SR and DMT are low, based on the wide ranging recommendations provided online – IIRC, I have seen only two posts quoting DMT weights anything like this low for significant activity (by ragabr [30mg] and 69ron [25-50mg]). Bodyweight is 65kg. With smoked DMT, threshold is approximately 15mg for light visuals, around 25-30mg and upwards seems to provide total closed-eye visual immersion and some degree of ‘apparent communication with discarnate entities.’ However, at these smoked doses there was always the sensation that the full potential of the chemical was not being tapped – that there was far deeper left to travel.
The expectation was that 20mg taken orally would constitute a fairly mild introduction to this ingestion method, despite what appears to be a constitutionally low tolerance. In fact, this was an extremely intense experience; if this wasn’t a breakthrough dose, then I don’t know what a breakthrough is. Constant, inescapable CEVs/OEVs, loss of bodily-awareness, prolonged dialogue and interaction with an apparent pantheon of mythic God-figures in a vast underground complex of treasure-filled caverns and halls. It was like being given an audience with ‘everything’, wherein ‘everything’ judged, mocked, offered constructive criticism and encouragement, then fielded questions and took requests. This discussion went on a long time, and seemed poignant and profound in the instant, but the answers, although entirely satisfactory, now seem a little too trite and possibly contrived to make public. However, a couple of points for discussion (without meaning to pretend to any great insight):
The impression given was that larger doses of DMT would not be beneficial; the response of ‘everything’ was basically – what the fuck else do you want? Do you want to see this, do you want to see this? – as the architecture of this underground complex unfolded and room after room replete with splendid furnishings whipped past. Everything is here, look at what you want. You don’t need to go any deeper; it’s all right here if you’d just pay attention.
And further to this: don’t keep coming back just to nose around. It’s no use you just endlessly coming and going if you don’t make any use of the experience. We don’t need you here piddling about in the corner looking at pretty little things; if you’re here, look at the big picture and try to understand what it’s all about, try to take something useful away with you.
