As some of you may know, I have been battling severe hereditary Insomnia for some time now, with limited to no success. My main problem is entering REM sleep.

Over the past year I have felt changes in my psyche, thought patterns, and an overall decrease in mental health. At the same time, I have reason to believe that the insomnia has expanded my consciousness as well.

I have read on the shroomery (sorry, can't find link) that some priests claim that 4-5 days with no sleep and fasting MIGHT induce a DMT like experience.

Last night, I had a DMT like hallucination, when I was lying in bed, a week or more sleep deprived and very little food in my stomach. I have never experienced this before, and I am 100% positive that I was not sleeping. All of the sudden, for no reason at all, I exhaled, and I felt very strange. Then I opened my eyes and tried to get up, but I felt like I was about to enter hyperspace. Then, my vision kind of tunneled out, and I felt like I blasted off (similar to vaporized dmt trip). After that "jump" was over, I felt like I broke through. I saw the fractal patterns and a different landscape, but it was very fuzzy, and confusing. I stayed in this state of confusion for an unknown period of time, and then my vision started to return to normal.

This morning, I feel very strange, almost as if I had a mild dose of aya last night. I don't really know what to make of this situation. Part of me is amazed, part of me thinks I am going insane.

Thanks,
Max

When you are tired and sleep deprived it is indeed easier to get into a sober trance state such as astral projection which is very similar to a dmt blast off(overwelming energy, noise, fractules and visuals. I know from experience. Isnomia is unhealthy but dmt like experience can be produced wether you get enough sleep or not. There are many ways to cure insomia and I would start by clearing your mind on a daily basis using techniques. You must take control.

The Warriorโ€™s Prayer
"I am what I am. In having faith in the beauty within me I develop trust. In softness I have strength. In silence I walk with the gods. In peace I understand myself and the world. In conflict I walk away. In detachment I am free. In respecting all living things I respect myself. In dedication I honour the courage within me.
In eternity I have compassion for the nature of all things. In love I unconditionally accept the evolution of others. In freedom I have power.
In my individuality I express the God-Force within me. In service I give of what I have become.
I am what I am: Eternal, immortal, universal, and infinite. And so be it"

Hello, I'm sure your sleep deprivation has been far worse than mine. I use to be a crystal meth addict. Thank God I'm not anymore but I've stayed up a week with no nap what so ever. It's a torture I was putting myself through. I did hallucinate and become very paranoid. Not as a DMT blast though. I've never experienced anything relating to DMT till my 1st blast. Nothing can compare I believe.

You sound as if you're more on the verge of death man/woman. I'd get some meds before you do go insane. If you already have to question your own sanity than you're already far in to it. Although crazy people don't know they're crazy. Just try and get a professional opinion. I don't believe anyone on here is a DR.
