hi all,
last night i had the wonderful privilege, one that i take very seriously, of welcoming two good friends aboard spice airlines. they were seated in first class, and we're really excited to take their first flight.
a little, i think necessary, background:
i've known this couple for a long time - they're smart, grounded, open, educated, and curious folks. he is an experienced traveler (not with deems) and she had made short treks with the help of low-grade shrooms and weak lsd before - but never really experiencing an intercontinental, ballistic trip. but yesterday, they decided they were ready. they packed their bags, and boarded the plane.
i've been telling them for months about my own excursions - detailing the good, and bad! in fact, i'm not currently flying because my personal headspace isn't where it needs to be. i wrote about that here:
https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=35928i feel like i'm rambling a bit so i'll cut to the chase. as i said, last night they booked a ticket on spice airlines. as a good tour guide, and steward, i went thru the safety precautions for probably a half hour. i mean, i know them well - they're good friends and have journeyed a bit. but i wanted to make sure that their mental seat belts were fastened securely. i was totally impressed with their positivity. commitment. and desire.
blast off.
what an amazing gift it is to show (adult, willing, knowledgable, mentally hungry) people what it's like to travel on spice airlines.
i was sitting on the couch, watching them closely for any signs of turbulence, and smiling. they were in a great place - there was giggling. smiling. open-eyed amazement. and deep, satisfying breathing as they journeyed past an indescribable amount of feet above earth.

i was just so happy that i could be part of it - the lucky travel agent that helped get them to a really cool destination.
i won't bore you all with details of their respective trips. this isn't a trip report. it's just the musings of a tourist turned travel agent - and one who was really glad to introduce his friends to his favorite vacation spot.
cheers to all.
Know who you are and be it.
