I attempted to try some before asking, but due to unexpected circumstances I had to abort the experiment and couldn't smoke enough to find out by myself. Now, thinking about the next time I harvest...
Particularly now in summer, after getting a couple of my salvia plants used to the lower outdoors humidity in my location, sometimes leaves in the plant curl and dry partially. And I was wondering if the presence of salvinorin compounds changes in the parts of the leaf that have been dried before harvest.
Salvia growers, do you trim the partially dried leaves after harvesting and before drying the plant material for storage? Do you rescue the fallen dry leaves? If the amount of salvinorin changes between healthy and dry leaves, it would be good to know - I don't want to mix leaves with different concentrations. And once they've been manually dried it's very difficult to tell between both.
Thanks!
