That is exactly the information I was looking for. Thank you! You're a good writer, with a kind heart. I'm grateful taht you took the time to share your experience in Peru. Your experience sounded very challenging and rewarding.

I'm very interested in seeing the process of textile creation, those aya inspired patterns are some of my favorite forms of visionary art.

So kind of a side question.

So what does a retreat/trip cost to go to Peru to one of these ceremony's or anywhere for a ceremony? I could only dream of going to such an amazing event do to my disability and for that living most my days. Are there such thing as a place where you can earn a trip with no expenses? I know this is dumb to ask but its safe to say some people like I can't afford much if anything and can't experience such events because of our financial situation. Would be nice to find a place were people can experience these traditions even if they are poor.

In Peru, a single ceremony costs from 50-100 soles,($20-$35), a week's retreat with basic sleep/food/ 3-4 ceremonies/, can be had for about $150 if you bargain hard, (but this is the very cheapest, then you've gotta find the place.)

All in all it's quite expensive when you include airfares, so unless you're doing it as part of general travels, Ayahuasca tourism isn't cheap, unless of course you're doing long stays when it does work out cheap, ie, many months.

Although there are places that work on donation, they usually have a $500 minimal fee, so they aren't free.

I would not expect to find anyone doing Aya ceremonies for free. Everyone pays, as do the locals, it's not free work.

I certainly would not feel good paying nothing after all the work these people do for you.
