Just wanted to say hey. I'm relatively new to dmt and recently extracted for personal use in order to travel well, into the abyssal frontier of dimensionless space, that is consciousness, where anything is possible. To boldly go where no man has gone before,Star Trek style. I first really became interested in trying dmt after watching the film Enter The Void.

A few months later, my close friend met someone who introduced dmt to him, and after hearing what he experienced, I decided it was time to mine for spice. Before that I never really took the time to do the proper research, despite knowing about it and what tryptamines are, and the profound experiences that they are associated with, i.e. Ibogaine and Ayahuasca. I am a Biochem major with some lab experience, so the extraction was actually almost as fun as using. Almost, but not really. I also feel fortunate to have found a great mhrb vendor. I used the stb tek, which included the Na2CO3 polar wash and MgSO4 to dry it.

I have only done it twice, and may of had a "semi breakthrough" trip on the second try. I had moments of being completely dissolved in hyperspace, but then would open my eyes and realize that I'm still me, and my ego would shake me for a few milliseconds and then I'd get lost again, sometimes into a void, where I couldn't even integrate or process what I was experiencing. I saw double helix's that looked like DNA, with what appeared to be codons along the steps of the ladder, like you'd see in a cell bio textbook.

I've been too scared to take a really big hit and hold it in until forgetting I blew it out, which would happen if only I'd held it in a little longer. I almost feel like I'm not pure enough to fully enjoy it, since I'm so out of touch with my spiritual side. I'm self-centered and too attached to the material world, but am starting to realize I'm just part of a greater collective, of some sort of profound universal type of energy field that is affecting other fields that we have no idea about.

Any advice on how to let go, for a more peaceful trip?

Welcome to the Nexus!

Did you also consider trying DMT orally/ayahuasca? I find it lends itself easier for integrating the experiences than smoking DMT (which is an amazing experience of course but by itself it might be more limited when it comes to integration).

Did you check our health and safety section? It has some tips on dealing with negative experiences and it briefly touches the idea of 'letting go' as well as other relevant things such as the preparation and setting, how to deal with negative experiences, etc.

How did you get to know the Nexus, btw?

What part of biochem are you most interested in?

Hey endlessness:

Yes, I do want to try the oral brew for the reasons you mention. I haven't explored the Nexus much yet. I found it by researching extraction methods. I am most interested in quantitative chemical analysis and being in a lab setting. As far as biochem, proteins are the most interesting, specifically the neurochemistry of the brain. We don't know much about it. We don't even fully understand what dmt is. We used to think it was physiological noise before LSD was first discovered.

Welcome to the nexus!

I too have found myself to be an egocentric too heavily grounded to this plane of existence. I have noticed that the fact that I am aware, and the more aware I become, the more of a handle I have on it. I have since been able to make micro adjustments to my inner self.

I have to say, dmt and extractions and all the chemists on this site has resparked my interest in science and is pushing me to want to possibly go back to school. I have always loved chemistry, and I really am not all that content with my current career. Thank you.
