Hi all,
Recently I have become very passionate about creating and maintaining sacred space(s) within my home, and have used it up until now as an altar for prayer,as well as a place for art and meditation. However, last night, on a brief foray into hyperspace, as was informed that it would behoove me to create an extension to my sacred space, as a place specifically for blasting off from.
I of course have begun dreaming up way I might do this, but I'm also curious of anyone else's "sacred launch pads"; any rituals, items or diagrams that have assisted you along in your journeys?

First of all I just wanted to say I love the name you've chosen for your topic. Anyways, I have read in a few seperate places that it is ideal to have a special place for meditation and contemplation, a place seperate from the room where you sleep or eat, a place all its own, and I must say I fully agree with this. I also love your idea of creating a seperate place for you to launch. I believe that it could be in the same room as your other sacred place, maybe parallel to it, so that before you launch you can sit and meditate to clear your mind and ready yourself in your usual spot, then simply walk across the room facing the opposite direction and be ready for your voyage. Maybe decorate your new area with items that are aesthetically(visually) pleasing and spiritually pleasing to you. Such as symbols you feel connected with or a poster or painting that you love, or that brings you peace of mind and heart. That being said I commend this idea and I thank you for sharing it with me. It has inspired me to do the same. I hope my feedback was helpful or useful. Peace Love and Happy Travels.
Maybe we don't know what we need.

i found that my best launch pad is my bedroom, i was having great difficulty doing it in someone elses room. I prefer to keep my room pristine. I smoalk with the lights off, and turn off my fans/air conditioner. i usually sit upright so my stomach doesnt get jumpy.
under these conditions i blasted off and my room became a hyperspace control center. This is oddly what happens almost every time. there are always variations, but it i never see entities.

Thanks for the input! I like the idea of my sacred space being a place unto itself, though I've established and enjoy mine in my bedroom. Right now I'm contemplating the use of tapestries, mirrors or colored string to partition or guide energies.
Also, a ritual, sacredly designed rug would seem to be an excellent addition.

Yeah I like the idea of the rug. Especially one with a very pleasant texture, a nice feel to it, so when you sit down you get a sense of comfort.

I personally think it is very important to have a great launch pad. Have things around you that make you relaxed, spiritual and comfortable. I like the idea of a nicely lit room, some crystals and symbolic items. Someone said to have fruit cut up waiting for you when you come back from a big hypertrip as a comfort.
I like the tribal dressup thing with some crystals and dim lit room with a lava lamp and some christmas lights. Always smoalk with a smile on your face! Positive thoughts.

lava lamp, fruit, and crystals sound awesome. I need a new bulb for my lava lamp asap! haha. My room is pretty much where it's at, I have tons of my own drawings and my girlfriends art, as well as all the psychedelic artwork I've printed all over my walls, I like to have a colorful room in general so I guess that's why I love it in there so much. Sometimes I find a reeeally nice quiet place to sit, often a place with meaning or pleasant memories tied to it, and either earphones or my radio on really softly playing coil's "time machines" and the winamp visuals on.
With every great plan comes the pleasure of patience. Take a rest, and grab a suckle off the teat of life!

Ah, the mental launch pad! I managed to neglect the most important part!
I think going in with a conscience smile on your face in an extremely important idea; especially with some of the emotions pre-flight jitters can elicit.
Somewhat literal-izing the idea of a mental launch pad, I think I may begin meditations to construct a vivid and revisable mental launch pad of my own!

I also really like the idea of having fruit waiting for you when you get back. Also maybe a glass of cold water or a juice that you like or maybe even a tea of sorts sounds really pleasant to me.

The comfort of your launch pad: blankets, pillows, comfortable place to sit or lay down. Pleased

The positive vibe (before going in): Smile, say thank you, laugh, deep breath and love love love. Laughing Smile Very happy

The weclome home: have things that comfort you home, to drink and eat, like fruit, tea or juice or water. But also things you might feel comforting. Like a lover, a stuffy that you can hug (maybe from childhood) Love

Things I think to avoid: loud music, bright lights (the bulb on the ceiling), dirty messy room, friends who bug or are loud (see this on YouTewb all the time), cold room, bad angry Mad thoughts (maybe you just got in a fight with the spouse), telephone ringing and I think a VERY important one... Candles close by (that could get knocked over while tripping), dont launch in a park with strangers, On a chair without arms (you might lean over and fall off). Thumbs down

Safety: Have a bucket around you (if you might have to Sick and is usually for beginners or maybe high dosers. Weigh your doses! (last thing you want is to Shocked OD an have a shitty trip). Clear the pipe before placing your dose (same as < < ). On safety I would add the candle thing but it was mentioned before. Stop

Happy launching! Big grin Cool

I think crucial to have a sacred space and ceremony for each launch. Shamans would never think of taking ayahuasca without one. Many reasons for this, including respect to the plants, healing, and more important protection. I like to have my family of crystals very close by, in my bed since its most comfortable place i know. Lights off, phone off..some palo santo or sage burning, and prayer is always helpful. Happy journeying
