My first three experiences with dmt were all in the period of one week. The first one, was at night around a campfire. A friend of ours brought over some nice white crystals, lets call him tom. I had done some prior research, and was concerned about how to go about smoking it, but tom assured us it would be fine to smoke it on top of a small bed of weed. Two of my other friends did it first, they didn't seem to blast off, maintaining "awareness", even getting up and moving around. This made me a bit more comfortable, as I was sure I wanted to totally blast off yet. I lit the bowl and took as large of a hit as I could, holding it in for about 10 seconds before trying for my second hit. The second hit was small and I exhaled quickly, already starting to feel the effects. I tried for a third hit, but the idea of smoking was hard to grasp at that point, so overall I'd say I got one solid first hit, then not even a full second hit between the other two. I felt powerful waves come over me, that forced me to lean back and look up. The pine tree branches above me were repeating in a spiral pattern and I just stared upwards for the first 3-4 minutes. The glow from the fire turned the whole sky red. After that I got up, went inside and just looked around. Overall it was pretty strong, stronger visuals than 5 hits of lsd, and much more powerful 'feelings'. After I was completely back to baseline, I went back out to the fire and told tom that I was expecting more. He offered to load me up another dose, but I had read about tolerance and also wanted to try a different method of smoking, so I declined. To my surprise, he offered to leave me with the rest of his dmt to use when I felt ready. He told us that we should just split what was left into two doses, and that should be significantly more than what we did that night.
The next morning, I decided it was time to try the stronger dose. I prepared heavily for this, taking a shower to make sure my hair felt right. Putting on comfortable clothes, meditating for an hour before finally loading the dose. I decided to take just over half of what was left, not sure on the actual measurment, and I put it on a small layer of weed. I decided to try my bong this time, figuring I would be able to take more at once and hold it in longer. I also decided to use a modified hakko (metal tip removed) to attempt to vape the dmt more so than I could with a lighter. I cleared my mind for several minutes while holding the bong sitting cross legged on a comfy chair. When I finally decided I was ready, I held the soldering iron over over the dmt and began to inhale. The dmt vaporized instantly, going from a white powdery crystal to nothing in less than a second. At first I thought that was it, but quickly realized it must have melted down into the small layer of bud underneath. I started to poke at the dmt saturated weed with the tip of the soldering iron and before the smoke even hit my lungs, the initial vapor hit me and I felt a reddish glow around everything. The bong had this strange look to it and everything seemed to shrink vertically and stretch horizontally. By this time, I felt the effects coming on strong and I had to make a decision. To keep fishing around the bowl trying to get more, or to just clear it and try to put down the soldering iron safely. I fished around for another second before clearing it and just managed to put the soldering iron down before I was overwhelmed by the effects and had to lay back and close my eyes. I remember just before leaning back the hair on my legs was jumping out at me and dancing around. When I leaned back I saw vivid red and black fractal patterns for a split second, then nothing. The next 4-5 minutes I cannot remember or even come close to comprehending. People talk of entities or beings, but I experienced complete nothingness. Time meant nothing in those first few minutes, it felt like an eternity. At some point I started worrying that my friends in the room were freaking out about me. I felt like I was gone for so long that at one point I thought I was going to wake up on a hospital bed or in an ambulance because my friends got scared and didn't know how to handle the situation. My first memory upon return was my friend saying "you coming down now...?" right as I opened my eyes and looked at him. I was definitely coming down, but all I could do was nod at that point. After a minute of looking around the living room, I went outside and sat down. The trees were swaying in a melty fashion, and the clouds were morphing more than they had on 5 hits of acid. The wood grain on the side of my house was more alive than it ever had been. The next 10-15 minutes coming down were incredible. I felt like all my thoughts were clear and true, I never felt more clear headed. The 10-15 minute come down was still an incredible trip, but it was extremely relaxing because of how intense the first part was. It was like a 15 minute long sign of relief as I came back to reality. Looking back on it, I think being alone in complete silence outdoors would have made me more relaxed for the first part. The only negative part was me worrying that my friends were freaking out. After this trip, I felt like I was good for a while. Not that I would do it again, but I just wasn't in any rush to. I did however, start researching the extraction process, and ordered a pound of MHRB, which should be at the post office today!
About a week later (last night), one of my roommates decided to purchase some dmt from tom. This stuff did not seem as good as the last stuff he gave to us. It was yellow and not a fine powdery crystal, but more solid feeling. We were able to borrow a scale for this, though I don't know how accurate it was, it did give us 0.00g measurements. My roommate and his friend who had never experienced dmt went first. They weighed out .05g and used the soldering iron as I did in my last trip. Both of them experienced strong visuals, bright colors and patterns, but seemed no where near a breakthrough dose. I decided to give it a shot, even though I wasn't planning on doing it for a while. I was looking for a less intense experience than last time, but more than they did, so I decided on .07g. I was able to smoke most of it all in one hit, and I held it in for about 15 seconds. I felt the effects coming on, but they weren't as intense as the last time, so I decided to take another rip and I was able to finish everything left in the bowl. The effects came on in a similar way, with shades of red and stretching and shrinking, but it never overpowered me like last time and I was able to keep my eyes open for the whole experience. The wood stove in the corner looked cartoonish and the pipe above it almost melted into the wall. The posters on the wall took on an almost "pastel like" look to them. I also experienced a bit of a heat flash, my whole body felt really really warm, especailly my legs. Then eventually my legs started shaking and I started to feel cold. Overall this experience was far less intense than last time, but I was able to remember and comprehend almost all of it. It made me feel a lot more comfortable with it, and I am now prepared to take on another breakthrough level dose. I plan to be alone and hopefully in nature for my next breakthrough, though I'm not sure how I'll smoke it because I can't bring the soldering iron and I think that is a really awesome way to vape it.
After my .07g dose, my roommate decided he wanted a significantly stronger dose. He measured out .10g. He used the bong and to my surprise, was able to take a full rip, then another, then another when my friend took the soldering iron and bong from his as a safety precaution. about five seconds later he asked for the bong again and took one last massive rip. Right before he inhaled he said, "I'm already blasting off" so that last hit probably brought him to another dimension. For the next 6-8 minutes he laid back and closed his eyes. After he finally came back, the effects lasted another 15-20 minutes, and when he finally spoke about the trip, he couldn't say much. He described an infinitely bright light and complete ego loss. He also described floating on a island of greens and browns, with other colored islands floating towards him. He thought the islands coming towards him might have been the sounds of us talking in the background.
It seems like he had an equally powerful experience as my second trip, I'm wondering why I can't remember anything from the peak, where he seems to have some pretty clear memories.
