No-one can predict the outcome of all the things that are happening at this moment, but i think it can be objectively said that never, since WW2, europe has been as close to it´s economic disintegration as at this very moment.

What began in greece, portugal and italy has now been spreading to spain and will possibly spread-out further towards france and maybe even belgium.

I know many people will enjoy this. Especially in the english and american newspapers i expect to see all kinds of gloating comments about the french. Also within europe, i expect people to welcome the collapse of the euro.

On itself i have no problems with that: the EU and the euro are both a true monstrosity in how they´re shaped and governed.

The sad thing however, is that europeans (and that includes the brits, whether they like it or not) are so extremely decadent that they don´t realise what they´ll be cheering for.

Europe is rich and europeans are spoiled. Not just the conservatives..also the lefties. They think that clean water and electricity are natural rights. They think that prosperity is a right. They think that welfare and pensions are rights.

They don´t realise that all those kind of things depend upon collective efforts. Europe has been so prosperous that europeans have forgotten about that.

Most of all....europeans still believe that they can dictate the rest of the world how to act. Whether it´s iran, syria, libya or iraq, or whether it´s russia or china.

Unfortunately....in all their critisism towards iran, syria, russia, china, etc..europeans have very often been right: torturing, raping and killing people IS terrible, disgusting, ugly and loathsome.

I wonder if all the people who´ll welcome the collapse of europe with cheer and laughter, fully realise that europeans have had a chance to build a community that is void of torture, political opression and where human rights would have been guaranteed, where social security and care for the weak and the poor would have been guaranteed as well and that as one giant economical block could have ensured fair-as well as eco-friendly trade.

There is a big chance that the economic demise of europe will also bring a change in culture. You can already see an alarming increase in racism, anti-islamism and other forms of xenophobia. This will also mean a stepped-up war against drugs...it´s all part of the demise of civilisation in europe.

Luckily, south-america is develloping in the opposite direction. It´s becoming more open, tolerant and cosmopolitan.

Maybe within a few decades, if you want your to live in peace, if you want your basic human rights respected, to be assured of some basic income and your childeren to have something of a future....you should leave the old world (including britain) and move towards south america.

So cheer and laugh while you can...and pray that in south-america they´ll have more humane immigration laws than we decided to have over here.

Brazil is growing unsustainably though, based on credit.. The government is massively supporting people to buy things on credit, so unless there is a big change, its gonna blow up soon too. Like the cleaning lady with a minimum salary, where my mom works had an iphone she was paying in I dont know how many monthly parcels, and was all proud about it, because it was a 'status' thing.. and my mom was trying to explain how bad that was, how she should just buy what she has money to, to consider priorities, not buy in credit, etc.. And she just thought my mom was 'excentric' and silly for saying that. And this is happening in individual level, but also in a macroscale, with companies and business, or also huge constructions and things the politicians are doings all based on credit, with the illusion/falacy of eternal growth.

I think maybe other south american countries might not have the same problem, im not sure...

As for europeans and europe situation, I agree with a lot of what you say. I always find funny when europeans are against immigration and talk about how the immigrants are sucking up the resources, without realizing where the whole money from europe came from in the first place.. If they did think that, maybe they would realize that europe was built on the parasitic colonialism, stealing from everywhere else and so on (and this continues to this day, with multinational corporations moving money away from poor countries, debt collection, arms deals and so on).

So dont complain that there are africans washing up your shore, stop financing wars and selling weapons to africa, start pressuring those countries, invest THERE in their development instead of on more police and closing down the borders, etc etc.. Dont complain south americans are clogging the health system and that the gangs are disturbing, start realizing why are there gangs in the first place (the social situation left due to how south america was colonized, the single mothers immigrating with kids and spending all day working for a small salary, leaving kids all day at home with nothing to do, and no clue how to find their identity, etc etc).

Im not sure where will be a good place to live in the future, its all up for grabs at the moment, because appart from economical issues, we have global climate issues and so on. We have great developments in many parts of human endeavors, and a lot of negative things and greed... It's all very interesting and sad and beautiful and exciting and scary at the same time.

This world is so evil that the only thing that can save it is collapse. I am sure everyone will stop laughing when there is not food and water for all people, no electricity, no gas, no fuel.

Then finally it will not matter what kind of designer clothes they wear, who has got better car or bigger house. What some retarded pop star or actor said on the TV. Maybe then finally people will start helping each other, loving their neighbours and start living as human beings.

This will be like weeding. To clean our beautiful planet Earth from some human parasites. An believe me there are many of them. After all is done new era of New Earth will finally start. Cant wait.

And NO I am not tripping Smile

I very much agree with this. How do you realistically fix something this corrupt? You either destroy it or let it destroy itself, IMO.

As a positive note, I'm pleased to see today in the spanish press that most of the people commenting on the news of Argentina nationalizing the YPF group (related to the spanish oil company Repsol) agree and understand De Kirchner's move.

It made me think of this quote from "The Russia House" movie.

"If there is to be a hope we must all betray our country, we have to save each other because all victims are equal and none is more equal than others. It's everyone's duty to start the avalanche."

What makes me so sad is this: no-one here in europe seems to realise anymore that something like a right, no matter how basic, can only exist in a social context. I can only have a right if i grant you, your rights as well.

And this does not only apply within nations but between nations as well. Look at complex issues like climate change.

Something like water is not a natural right. Only a collective effort of humans to obtain and share something like clean water can give us that right.

There is a rationality in this wich i think is best expressed by the philosopher john rawls: If i where to be reincarnated in some world and i would not know if i would be a man or a woman, black or white, a child of rich or poor parents, etc...in what kind of society would i like to end-up then? With what kind of rules would i agree?

So not only do i know what kind of world I would want to live in...i can also figure what kind of world everyone else would want to live in and i can also figure that other people can figure in what kind of world i would want to live in, and i can also figure that other people can figure that i can figure in what kind of world they would want to live in, etc.

So everyone can know what´s right. And that it can only be realised toghether.
That sense seems to be lost somehow...and as i just showed, the loss of that sense is completely irrational: no-one has enough power to make the world the way he wants it. No country has that power either. The imperial overstretch of NATO has shown that even the collective of all western nations isn´t powerfull enough to dictate the rest of the world how to live....we have to find a way to agree with eachother...that´s realy the only way.

The only hope for europe is maybe that we have such terrible weapons today, that another war isn´t an option anymore.

Because endlessness...you have to realise that barcelona is for european standards even a relatively liberal and cosmopolitan city...and that racism and xenophobia is even much, much, much worse today than it was ten years ago.

It deeply worries me. I don´t claim to know what´s gonna happen. Maybe the dark clouds will pass. But you have to be very blind not to see those dark clouds. (and i think that many europeans don´t see those dark clouds because they don´t want to see them...because seeing them means realising that history COULD repeat itself. And europe has a very dark history)

I don't wish harm or financial collapse on any nation. I really hope the world pulls itself out of this financial pit that it's in. To be honest, anybody who laughs at the collapse of Europe will not laugh long, for we have become a globalized society. If/when Europe collapses, it will have an instantaneous effect on the United States and many other countries.

There are many complex ways to analyze and dissect the economies of different nations/governments. However, it all comes down to one very simple thing: if you spend more than you make into perpetuity, you will eventually be bankrupt. This fact holds true whether you are a government, business, or individual.

Most of the governments of Europe and the Unites States are spending more than they take in on an annual basis. This is not sustainable. At this point, a complete restructuring of the governments and benefit systems is necessary.

Hmmmm... I need a bong rip.
