edit: what is with the laughing on salvia? (they all sound the same, same laugh) and why are people so mobile? dmt is very relaxed and meditative. salvia just seems strange and really needs a sitter and maybe a rubber room! forest might be a good place too, but i am sure someone would climb a tree and get hurt. very potent and legal drug. salvia 150x and people ripping tokes off of it like its weed, then seeing demons and freaking out! just freakin nutz..... *shaking head*

Who knows, but i have been thrown into laughter more than a few times, maybe the thought of it, but whenever i got in those moments of laughter, i couldn't stop until i came down.

idk sometimes it sucked like when you can't stop, and when your trying to be serious and one person makes a noise or breaths a certain way and the laughter starts again.

but either way laughing is good for you so you at least getting something from it.

this video was featured on the comedy central show tosh.0. it's clearly not on the second floor. and extracted salvia is not the toy that some of the youtube vids make it out to be. one trip to salvia land was enough for me. very dark and confusing and not at all pleasant. the uncontrollable urge that some people have to get up and walk outside is probably going to get someone killed.

... This is just plain scary. My heart skipped a beat when he totaled the window and himself. I've come out of a dmt trip saying stuff and wondered how loud I may have been talking the whole trip but damn... I am glad I put the Salvia down and haven't ventured with it in over ten years. That stuff gave me the worst anxiety attack I've ever had, no exceptions whatsoever. I'm glad to see he is alive but it's not suprising to see salvia getting prohibited/made illegal what have you..

If you see him and the tree outside you will know it is the 2nd floor. There are stairs leading up the balcony door. That is not a front door. But in any case it is not staged when you see the determination and clawing, distruction.

This drug scares me!! Good call on that coastal shaman.. Most people see dark. Why dont you record yourself on dmt? Just for personal observation. I think I might.

people take it in retarded set/settings- this is just another example. Its definitely not for everyone. Alone outdoors at night, or in basically sensory dep indoors, is the way to go IMO. And quidding is much more enjoyable and easy to work with than smoking. Besides, people smoke WAY too potent extract a lot of the time. i think its better to ease into it with less potent stuff or plain leaf

This video is another exemple of WRONG salvia session.
The trippers here didn't weight their dose which is probably a very strong extract already.
It's true that trip-walking happens on salvia but as UC said this is easily avoided if using gentle technique (from plain leaf to extracts- or sublingual/quid route is used.

this is what happens when people who have no idea what the hell they are doing aimlessly take a high concentration of what is easily one of if not the most powerful psychedelic plant out there.

I really dont think any vendors should be selling extract. There is no need for salvia extract to be available to people like this. It is easy enough to make extract but alot of people would just never be bothered to either make extract or work with the plain leaf, so it would weed out all of the people out there who just want to get fraked up.

I almost feel like we could all take a hint from a mazatecs who seem to put alot of effort into hiding their salvia gardens from everyone else.

The way salvia is marketed sold is discusting. Get plants and cut out these middlemen..the plant is soooo easy to grow and produces alot of leaf. The way salvia is sold in high potency extracts to any fool willing to smoke it only works against those who really do care for this plant. This video is a perfect example of that. Get cuttings while it is still legal is all I can say.

I agree with everything jamie is saying. Vendors shouldn't be selling extract. It's really easy to grow, really easy to produce your own extract, that people shouldn't sell extracts to kids, because that's essentially who they're marketing it towards. Kids who can't or don't have the knowledge to produce their own extract or grow their own plants.

At least videos like these (that are new) are few and far between nowadays, it seems. The Salvia craze has all but died I think. Most kids would rather buy some bath salts or synthetic cannabinoid-laden smoking blends from the corner store.

Maybe I am bad... but I laughed so hard at this vid. It almost seems like a reap what you sow scenario. They asked for it, they got it.
I run into the majority of people that can't stand salvia (normally after their first or second try). The first time I tried salvia was in Amsterdam. We took precautions and did it responsibly. Everyone enjoyed it. We could have researched more on what a dose should be etc. but I feel that we came at it intelligently. The only problem, was, I happened to be near the window on the 5th floor where our hotel room was. I spent my trip sitting in that windowsill. I had no urge to go out of the window, nor did I want to come into the room (the room was dark and I wanted to stay in the light). I do remember two of my friends flanking me the whole time ready to grab me, because I really didn't want to leave the windowsill, and they were worried I might go backwards. I never felt unsafe, but when the time comes again I probably won't leave the window open!
I look forward to trying it again, though I think that chewing the leaves would be more enjoyable. Still need to research more.

I guess some people see the legality as a reason to do it "with easy mind", not most often realizing how powerful and freaky it can be. I just hope the kids who might do it in the future will stay safe and research a bit before trying it. Personally I have no interest in salvia due to it's nature of the trip(I've read several trip reports and none appeal to my interests).

Damn, That video is so familiar.. The way they're laughing and mumbling. And the way he moves, like just absolutely needing to get out of the building, a primal instinct controlling him on a very bad trip. IMO, the moving around isn't usually a problem, unless you're new to psychedelics and freak out, or if you take it very drunk. And high doses. Then things can go wrong.

That video is in all probability a hoax,It's just plain false in every respect. The forced laughing of that dude comes on way too fast, the window appears to have plastic sheeting over a wooden frame. (A breaking glass soundtrack overlay is not too difficult to do).

Why indulge these clowns by showing such tripe? It just gets Salvia a bad reputation, and one it doesn't deserve.

Hmm false in every respect? Well I don't know what you've observed but to me that's spot on how an inexperienced person reacts to salvia.. The laughter IS exactly like that, and the way they move and squirm around is like that. If that's a hoax then those are some damn good actors.

well yes, that's precisely the point, they are probably experienced with Salvia, then it's not too difficult to cook up a crappy video like that. But what's the point?

There are one or two really funny ones out there, but overall any video of people acting like idiots after od- ing on an entheogen is idiotic. It compromises the responsible use by sensible individuals . The Shamans from that part of Mexico who use it for healing are horrified by this type of behaviour.

I remember my first time Salvia and it taught me a very powerful lesson that this video reminds me of. It's terrible that people take this drug so irresponsibly, but I blame that mainly on the people who are marketing it. Users need to be educated by those who sell it to them.

I underestimated the power of it. I didn't know you could feel that weird as I was inexperienced with psychedelics or drugs in general. I read enough about it to know that I could walk, so I locked myself into my bed and shot a video of it. It was not pretty seeing myself in a panic attack like that desperately trying to claw myself out of the room. Had I not locked the door I could've run from a balcony or out of my house straight onto a busy road.

I'm glad I had the experience to teach me that early in the process that I need to be careful with these things. It's a shame these people aren't properly guided through the process.
