Greetings beautiful brothers, sisters God's and Goddess's,
I know I have been quite for a while now. As many of you know I've been working with the Shipibo here in Peru with traditional ayahuasca ceremony's. I felt it was necessary for me to stop posting reports or thoughts for the time being as I wanted to be completely present for my personal growth and healing during these now 10 weeks with the Shipibo. However as always you all were in my heart and it has always been my intention to share the most powerful ceremony experiences with you all once my work has been completed. It brings me great joy and a little sorrow to now be able to say I am done here in Peru and must begin my re integration back to the real world.

First some thoughts and words on this experience as a whole. I came to Peru and ayahuasca quite naive. This was made obvious within my first week here. I thought I was here to basically "do" ayahuasca in a traditional setting as it would be an amazing experience but what I didn't realize but aya was quick to show me was that I was a sick person and needed healing. I like many people of our modern society have been conditioned and controlled by fears doubts and insecurity's from a life of experiences and childhood memory's. I knew this to some degree about myself and even wrote an essay about living a fear based life in the healing forum a couple years back . What I never thought was possible was to be liberated from these negative emotional toxin's that hold me back in life and reduce the unlimited potential for joy and happiness that has been inside me all along. Ayahuasca didn't waste much time showing me these fears in a series of terrifying journey's and then allowed me to face them all one by one and work through then and freeing my being from their enslavement.. I can quite confidently say that at this moment in time I live without fear. It is up to me to maintain this level of peace and I hope to do so with what I have learned and periodic journey's with ayahuasca at home or in ceremony.

The other part of why Id like to share these reports with the community is again something i had no previous understanding of. That is the need to stay grounded in reality and take each journey and experience with a grain of salt. In the 10 week's spent here I have seen many people come and go. Some stay for just a couple days some a week or more but one thing i noticed is that some of these people that didn't allow the process of ayahuasca to complete left here misguided by their own experiences. I myself fell into this trap more than once and with the help of good friends such as trav and swimfriend was nudged back on track as to ensure my well being and growth potential. Ill explain more in detail.

Basicaly Ayahuasca work is a process. One part of the process is learning how aya works. For many it seems that the things your shown and told are straight forward and to be held as truth's. What i have learned is that ayahuasca most of the time show's you something to get you to find the meaning of something else. For example, my friend here and fellow nexian Echo23 has well over 100 ceremony's and is the most knowledgeable person ive spoken with about ayahausca. He explained it like this. In one ceremony he was shown the end of the world, how it was going to happen and when. He left that ceremony and after much pondering decided that he only wanted good feelings and thoughts in his life since life as we know it were shown to soon come to an end. After a while of living this way he realised that he should have been and should be living like this regardless of the end of day's. He now understands that ayahuasca showed him the end of the world not because it is going to happen as real and as fact he first felt but to teach him the lesson that one should always seek good thoughts and emotions in life always. Aya just used the visions of the end of days to let him find this understanding.

So you see no matter how real some of these experiences and information feel and seem they must be taken as an interpretative or theory and the experiencer should try and look past the apparent obvious meaning and look at what the vision or insight is pointing to. This is more important and this is how ayahausca often works her majic. As you will read many of these reports are quite out there and at first i took a couple at face value actually believing I now understood the true nature of God or reality. However when information contradicts itself it makes you pause for a moment and start to look deeper into the experience. It is the integration of the experience that matters much more than the experience itself.

There was a fellow who came here not too long ago intending to stay for a couple weeks. This guy was pretty interested in 2012 predictions and spoke about this topic as well as read many books about 2012 and the end of the world. Well its no wonder that in his ayahuasca experiences he had visions of the end of the world and was told by the entities that he must live on this particular island off of British Colombia, a place that he was already discussing of living there previously to survive the end times. Well he had this same experience repeated a second ceremony and that was it for him. He packed up and left being fully convinced that this was prophisized to him as well as fact. He didn't stick around past day 3 to finish his work here and I feel if he did he was a smart man and possibly would have seen what I am talking about. That aya messages are not always direct in fact they are usually quite indirect because what it is that aya wishes is for us to do our own thinking and come up with our own interpretations which is how true change and progress comes about.

So I haven't edited out many things that I now see as untrue or inaccurate so that the reader may see the progression of understanding. I will add at the bottom of some reports integration notes after the fact as well but you can see quite clearly how at times the feelings were so real that I almost accepted them as fact as well as get ahead of myself. .

Ayahuasca is amazing and powerful medicine but you do need to be objective and grounded as the experiences are very powerful. Im not saying that ayahuasca never gives direct information but the tricky part is learning what is what, and that takes time and experience. That is what I am working on now and it is difficult. Some people dont receive much or any information some like me receive at times way too much information too quickly. It is my wish for these word's and reports to encourage those who feel the call to answer it but I encourage you to see it as the process it is and remain open but grounded so the user can benefit the most and grow to his or her full potential. With that said the ceremony's are numbered and left un-edited for the most part. I Cant explain how life changing this experience has been and the one thing I feel I truly learned was how little i actually know.

A word to those that feel plagued by difficult and terrifying experiences. Understand there is no such thing as a bad trip imo. In fact the most healing and growth come's from these difficult one's. It didn't take long for me to see the importance of these lesson's. With perseverance and unyielding trust of the process I can tell you that there is an end to this part of the process if your willing and ready to do your part and stay the coarse. Once liberated from all fears ayahuasca takes on a much deeper level as the only thing your are then limited by is what the human mind can comprehend.

So called "bad trips" are no longer possible once you learn how to navigate through them. Ayahuasca can and will throw some very frightening visions and feeling's at you but she can not impose fear into you. It is your reactions and identifying with the hard lesson's that create the fear therefore it is completely in your power for them to have no effect on you. Ayahuasca for me starts out with a fear test almost every ceremony just to reinforce the lesson as well as determine what you are ready to receive this night. At least this is how it works for me but everyone is different. Be brave, face all your fears one by one and liberate yourself from their grasp. I promise you life will take on a new meaning and the unbounded joy of the human experience can then fully blossom within you.

Take what you can and leave the rest behind. Much love and light to us all. The community of brave explorer's of conciousness and selves.

It is amazing to follow a brother on the path, in such a humble and worthwhile way. I shall take the next few days to read and dissect the further reports you have posted on each of your ceremonies.

I wish you the best of luck with your integration back into the real world. You have been on an amazing journey, one which shall continue. I commend you, for the head and heart with which you have undertaken this highly interesting chapter, and milestone in your life.

Your humility is highly respectable, and I am in awe of your journey. This community has so many inspiring people, and everyday I read at least one thing (though usually many more) that makes me so proud to be part of something so amazing and so special, that puts my faith back into humankind.

Peace

Hello Olympus Mon.

It was nice to meet you and do some ceremonies together. I pretty much agree with what you have written, and believe that taking Ayahuasca can help give one perspective over their lives, etc and that this in itself can be quite healing of any "ills" that one can accumulate in life. But i don´t believe that this power only resides with Ayahuasca, but also with other plant teachers, as well as simply taking time out from society´s matrix to reflect on things; something that simply travelling on one´s own is fantastic for-let alone drinking the delicious brewMad haha!

My overall experience is that there are 2 types of Ayahuasca tourists. There are those that simply wanna drink in a traditional type ceremony, and there are those that are drinking to be cured. I got the feeling that Don Mateo´s was more based on drinking Ayahuasca than anything else, and did not feel there was any shamanic curing going on, except that which was done by the Ayahuasca. Still, it was an interesting time to be had.

I had to agree with a Polish client who complained that the shamen didn´t try to talk to us about any problems we might have or what we would need to do in order to be cured. Like him, i would not choose to return to this same curandero because i would rather find a more focussed one who isn´t a businessman, etc. We all have problems to deal with and will continue to run into them as life moves along. I guess thanks to Ayahuasca we can relabel things as simply life experiences, but also don´t need to drink Ayahuasca to realise this. I read that the Ayahuasca is used by shamen as a diagnosis tool, and then medicinal plants are prescribed for a patient´s ills. I didn´t notice this going on at Don Mateo´s and whist i´m not trying to put him down or anything, i´m interested why i didn´t see this going on.

I left confused because i know that there is a hell of a lot to learn about curanderism, and this goes into all the different types of icaros, medicinal plant cures etc, and this is apart from dieta of plants and simply drinking Ayahuasca. Of course i can´t expect to learn much from one week, but it would have been nice to have been talking about this stuff. As the Polish guy was told by a friend, there are very few real curanderos left in the Pucallpa area, and the rest are catering for curious Gringos who just wanna do the easy ( haha) thing of drinking Ayahuasca and doing a dieta.

Please don´t take this as any kinda attack on Mateo or suchlike. I can´t really complain too much, and was very happy to meet you all. It´s just that i would not go as far as saying that it was a true curing centre, because whilst drinking Ayahuasca and hearing Icaros nay be curing to a certain degree, it´s still not the complete medicine imo, because medicinal plants should be consumed too (and this is apart from the plant dieta, etc). Hey, i´m no expert, but this is what i´ve learnt so far from others, especially the French tourists who were surprised that i was not "diagnosed" on my first session: this is where it would have been nice if there was more openess from the shamen who were working there.

Anyway, i must say that it was a very interesting and learning experience, and i´m happy to have done it with you and the rest. I would highly reccomend an Ayahuasca ceremony to anyone, and it´s certainly the only way to understand more about it and decide for yourself how you really feel about things, because thinking and doing are two totally different things.

Best regards, Christian.

Hey Christian,
thank you it was great to get to meet you and talk about our common interests. I understand your frustration with Mateo and too be honest in regards to him I pretty much agree with your assesment. He did very little for me in almost 6 weeks I was there and I do feel he has some things he need's to work on in his life and practice.

However, I left Mateo out of the picture long ago and if you read all my post's I don't think you will find even a single reference to him. For me I much preferred the ceremony's when he was not present and even opted to pass on a ceremony because I knew he was in town. So for me I make a distinction between the 2.

Emilio And Efrian to me are the one's doing the real work and healing there and if you take the time to read my reports there are multiple incidents of some very powerful healing of myself and other's that I witnessed and received. Every one has their own perspective on the matter's and to be honest you came at what was the worst week in my stay there.Crying or very sad

However, you also chose to never drink more than one time and if I may be so bold imo held yourself back from what could have been. Your last 2 ceremony's you self admitted you felt you just couldn't be bothered and were not into it finding the experinces a bit boring and monotonous. Those dissatisfying ceremony's really cant be pinned off on others. I told you that in all my time there i never drank any less than 2 times to get to a desired state and even had to drink 4 cups one ceremony. Yes the ayahuasca there has much to be improved upon which is why Enrique and I began brewing our own. I hope you dont feel im attacking you thats not my intention. I feel its good to also see your role in the events as well. Sorry if that is offensive. Its not like i dont also have some complaints about the center, I do but in the big picture of my time there they just seem not important.

As far was the opinions of the french couple they have every right to seek what they see as right for them but I dont feel their expectations are set in stone or the norm. Not every shaman works the same way. There want's I understand as that would be a nice thing to have a full assesment for everyone but after spending a month and a half there and seeing dozens of people come and go in a few days or even just one ceremony i could see why they dont do this for everyone. They did do this for me, rafael, and enrique and many other's before you got there. Maybe because we were all there long enough to let them get to know us and see our comitment to healing. Whether thats right or wrong is up to the individual but I can see why they dont do this for people not putting in full effort, leaving the ceremony's early, and expecting the shamans and the medicine to do all the work as they sit by idle.

Im not lumping you into that category. Im more speaking generaly and of the things ive seen there. Maybe some of those fit maybe not.

In the end each person must find the place and healer's that feel's right to them. I chose to stay there and make the most out of my time and i feel I got quite a lot out of it. Actually it has been the single most transformative period of my life. So some do leave dissapointed or even feeling ripped off. Thats fine everyone has their own experince and no to stay's are the same. In the end it comes down to you, the individual. There are no right or wrong's and certainly there are no perfect shaman's. they too are human beings with the same flaws and short comings as we have.

I hope you find a better suited healing center if you ever choose to try again my brother. There is much to be gained by ayahuasca and all these plant teachers. There are no right or wrong ways to go about healing just your way. Very happy

your quite welcome, im happy to be able to share this with the community. The first experience ti start with is actually in the quality experience reports as I posted it before I decided to remain quite until my work was complete. Maybe I should post it here as well for ease of finding it.
I only posted the ceremony's I felt were either pertinant or interesting. There were many dud's to be honest. Its just how things go ive found with ayahuasca and like Christian mentioned the aya there wasn't consistent at allCrying or very sad . It Just reinforces my previous belief that we here at the nexus can brew as good and probably better ayahuasca using science and better technique. Not every ceremony was a mind bender but they are all important just not that interesting to reader's. Laughing
Thank you and everyone for taking the time to read my writing's. Very happy
much love.

Hello Olympus mon.

The firt time i drank one cup, i had good visions. The 2'nd time i drank 1 and 1/2 cups of strong chakruna based brew, that was pretty full on. The last 2 times i just drank 1 cup and barely had any visuals whatsoever. In fact even when i vomited, it didn't taste strong as if it was "watered down Ayahuasca"?. Yea, the Ayahuasca they used was very inconsistent and "really" inexcuseable when one considers that they should have mastered the brews by now, with all their experience. It seemed like they were trying to cut corners with the Ayahuasca, and that was a very poor show indeed IMO.

Yea, the last Aya session were not so great. This was because i was a bit tired, and i really wasn't in the mood for drinking later to find my "sweet spot", or even some worthwhile visions, and prolongue the experience. Not only that, but by this time i had got familiar with the ceremonies, and if it wasn't for the saving grace of the layered icaros later in the 3'rd ceremony it would have been a total bummer. This also was when You drank your own brew for reasons well understood. Whilst i 100% understand why you did so, it also made the ceremony feel a bit odd, and really i think we should all be drinking the same Aya, and not seperate stuff.. Maybe you and Eric should start brewing Aya for Mateo, because one thing's for sure...they need some teaching in that area!!Laughing

Yea, so the last ceremony was a bummer because they apparently improved the Aya and it was even weaker than the 3'rd ceremony!Mad

Even so, i was happy that i made this experience, because now i have this knowledge under my belt so to speak and it will be useful for future ceremonies should i choose to do them. Still, it baffles me, it really does ..how a curandero cannot master the simple process of getting an Aya brew correct. To me it's like going to a top restaurant and getting served rubbish food. Simply wrong.Surprised

Hey Christian-
I totaly agree their aya was pretty bad about 60% of the time. Laughing In fact Eric and i DID offer to start brewing the ayahuasca but was turned down.Laughing Even Emilio preferred ours ayahausca and usually drank it since we brewed it.

Also a kind of messed up thing but I find funny now is Efrian liked our brew so much more that he actually drank in private with his wife about 2/3rds of my bottle of personal aya that I left in the maloka while I spent 2 days In the city here! I was not at all happy about that and confronted him and let him know that that was not ok to do without asking.

Its not that i mind sharing its that i had just enough to complete my final 3 ceremony's. He payed me back with his ayahuasca but i just gave it to Eric to add to his fermenting brew.

Like I said I do have some things i didnt like there but over all i feel it was a very positive experience. It was great to get to know you brother man, hope to catch up again someday.
cheers

Good idea. So do you mean making a list of the ceremony's and brief descriptions? Since the ceremony's are not in exact order 1-15 I could see how this is confusing. ill try to fix the problem, thanks.

Awesome!

Whichever format is fine, you're the author after all. I'll go through it all when I'm out of the exam period. I'm a bit envious of that big journey. Thanks for bringing back some of that experience here.

Wow! I don't think anyone could doubt both the depth of your experience and it's positive effect. This is a great report about a tremendously useful, meaningful, and effective experience! I'm overwhelmed that this has been such a REJUVENATION, REBIRTH, and RESOLUTION.

And I also acknowledge your expert alchemy--in using our (yours and mine) sometimes dicey interactions to your benefit. That too speaks of the revolutionary character of your experiences. You've done impressive work and, in lots of ways, it's to ALL of our benefit.

I'm deeply glad for your courage and your work, Olympus mon.

Likewise Olympus Mon.

One thing i feel i would like to add was that after my first or second ceremony, i was told by the shaman that they thought i was wanting to kill them!! This was because when they entered my spirit world they noted that i have some well founded anger towards someone who had treated my mother very poorly indeed. Having noted those feelings, i decided that i would deal with that out of ceremony, and continued with the ceremony.
The 3rd ceremony was very dark in terms of negative visuals, and i was concerned that despite explaining the situation, that they still didnt believe me 100% and were trying to fight me with the Ayahuasca. Either that or it was me picking up on the vibes of the Argentinian of whom a demon was released.Perhaps that night the Shaman thought it was me who was responsible for that demon, after the previous misunderstanding, i dunno...Shocked

So two positive experiences for me, and two potentially scary ones. When i left Don Mateo said goodbye. But he didnt make any effort to make eye contact, which i truly cannot understand why. I guess the man didnt like me for whatever reason, and maybe he still thinks i wanted to kill him. Last night i had a bad Aya type dream, and i hope hes not played some Aya games with my mind. I think that the reason they made this mistake was because they glimpsed this person of whom i feel anger towards, and that this man is Arabic, and has a similar type appearance to Efrian. Olympus mon, if you could explain that fact to the Don Mateo and the Shamen i would be very grateful, because i didnt mention about the similarity of looks, and dont wanna be left with doubts.

Of course, it could simply be just one of those things, but Don Mateos no eye contact on leaving left me wondering.Rolling eyes

Best regards,Christian.

Thank you SWIMfriend, your words now and over the years have been a helpful teacher and Ive learned much about myself and my ego. Thank you. Very happy

Christian- I have already left San Fran and wont be going back but I can get word to them through Eic. I didnt get to say goodbye to the shamans as they morning I left they were all in town. I wrote a letter to them emailed to Eric and he said he would translate it for me and read to them. I can do the same for your situation if you choose.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Mateao is in bit of a power struggle right now. Some of this is my own observation's some from talking to the other's about the place. If you noticed Mateo now forbids ceremony if he isnt there which was never the case before. In fact 3/4 of all my ceremony's Mateo wasn't even in town. I think he can see our bonds with Emilio and Efrian and our lack of concern for his presence and its bothering him. So this new rule, which by the way Emilio and Efrian broke for Eric and I our last ceremony,Laughing seems like a way to assert his authority.

Im not gossiping here im telling you this so you can see that the weird vibe you got from him I would guess has more to do with HIM than you. But i would be happy to write to them if you want me too.
I am not gonna lie, shits gonna get weird!

Thank you Olympus Mon, your posts are very informative, especially since I am slowly embarking on this path myself. Though it is hard to find the time to drink, I have a 5 year old to take care of.

I only drank one time now, 50g of yellow caapi only, but I fell asleep...It was kind of dissapointing, but shortly after I read about Jamie's heavy ride, it reminded me that it is best to start low and take your time.

I've brewed up 170g now, which are reducing at the moment. I'm planning on drinking half of that plus 3g of mimosa.

I wonder if you have any tips for drinking at home?

I'll have my wife as a sitter cause I don't feel comfortable doing it alone. I just know that I will have to deal with a lot of fear, and that it probably will be intense, and from my experience with mushrooms I know that it is nice to have someone near to hold your hand or comfort you when things go south.

Again, thank you for sharing your experiences, it is very much appreciated here!! Smile

congratulation of taking this important step. Its no small thing. I would be happy to share my thought's for you to do what you feel best with the information. This comes from my personal experiences so no 2 people are the same. Adjust things to what you feel best.

I think your amounts and plan sound just fine. Mimosa can be tricky sometimes 3 g is very heavy other times I have barely felt 5 g. Most important thing I can express to you is try to have 0 expectations but remain open to what ever you receive. Even if nothing is felt or you fall asleep like your first drinking I promise ayahuasca is not just sitting by idle. the medicine is still working in you. It is my belief from years of reading first time type reports and my own work with ayahuasca that their is often a period that aya seems to be diagnosing you and seeing what you need and what your ready for. This is why even here with the Shipibo I have seen people drink multiple cups of ass kicking brew's and felt nothing.

A certain relationship needs to be built between your body mind and the medicine. Some times that takes just one experience sometimes multiple but always trust in the process and have faith that the intelligence of ayahuasca is doing what is in your best interest.

Many people with fear issues or skeletons in the closet like I had often expect this to surface right away with aya. That is not always the case. For me she was patient and gave me some good trips at first I believe to keep me motivated to stay the coarse once the hard work began. So dont worry too much about things being difficult, they may they may not be.

If they are know that that is imo the most important type of experiences to be had and will benefit you the most if you allow the process to complete. A sitter is a great thing bit if the shit does hit the fan here is my advice.
Stand and face everything without resistance. resistance can be balling up just riding it out and even having your loved one rub your back and help you feel better. This is nice but to truly work through the fear you must face it on your own. The medicine and your own survival instinct will show you how to not only get through it but make progress and absolve these toxins from your being. Try to keep in mind that anything being thrown at you si from you! accept and love it as much as you love the good parts of your being. All must be accepted not just the light areas. The darkness is as much a part of us as the light. Cherish it the same.

My first big hard one I simply held on for dear life and road it out and didn't work through it but just endured it. Its no wonder that the next time was the same thing I hadn't moved up to the next level. The process is very much like a video game as you gain experience points and move up the levels the journey change. If you are lucky enough to get to overcome your fear's and demon's early on a whole new world will open up to you and you will be able to go VERY deep. Once difficult journeys are no longer an issue that when things really start to happen for you such as information downloads and connection with spirits and plant teachers.

If you are able to liberate yourself form fears I promise you life will take on new meaning. Its not a one time event its a process so stay the coarse and trust the medicine. This you must earn but it is life changing and worth all the effort. Let me know if I can help in any way.
I respect you courage and commitment to this calling.
Namaste my brother.

Oly, where do you see your journey taking you now? as you integrate back into the real world.

Will you take anything you learnt from your time in Peru and put it into your use with the sacred brew? In other words, what will you do differently now when partaking in aya, that you did not do before?

I guess I could also ask the same question regards to your life in general, and what do you see as your next step in your personal/spiritual growth?

Peace

Macre

Olympus my friend, you leave me speechless....

Thank you for your honest and loving words of advice. I can tell you are a beautiful human being and your support means a lot to me.

And you are so right about the fact that I must face myself alone. I realize that more than once I tried to run away from the (mushroom) experience by seeking out the hand or presence of my wife. But as you know it just takes courage to face ones fears.

Much love to you

Those are some great questions and I have been pondering them since I left the Shipibo 2 days ago.
Whats next for me is a big change. Originally my plan was to return to the states to get my dog and return here to Peru, the Cuzsco area to work and live. However on this journey I was blessed to meet the love of my life and everything changed. Claire lives in England and also wished to live in Peru but needs a year to save the money and be ready. I cant imagine life without her and the past 5 weeks since she went home have only proven that the most important thing in my life right now is fir us to be together. So i will be heading to London next week for 5 weeks to spend with her and interview with a few studios to work at. Ill return to Oregon for the summer while I finish up my clients there and apply for my visa. I'm moving to London permanently in September to begin our life together.

As far as my continued work with Ayahuasca it was shown to me my final ceremony that it is time for a break. I have much to integrate and pushed my body and mind to its limits. They need rest for now and I trust I will know when it is time to begin drinking at home again. I don't think I will do much different. I have some high quality recordings of the shaman's icaro's I will play but other than that I feel things will continue how I have always done them with the exception of maybe drinking with Claire and others rather than alone. I use to want to be alone in case I freaked out, but now that's not an issue.

One thing I wish to learn is how this experience can serve and help other's. I have dedicated my life a while ago to aid anyone who seeks help and information to begin working with these substances and plant medicines. A few of Claire s friends are now very interested in drinking ayahuasca when I move out there and I will happily be of service as best I can.

Claire had never before taken a psychedelic until we got together. As always I would never talk someone into trying these things it must come from them. After months of discussions and seeing my approach to understanding our universe and self she felt called to work with psychedelics. We took Lsd a few time's in Guatemala which she very much enjoyed. Thee is nothing more special than sharing this passion with someone I love so much. She really surprised me when she decided she wished to drink ayahuasca with us in 3 ceremony's. Before we arrived in Peru she was quite fearful and felt aya was not for her but after observing and talking to the other guests she came to me one night explaining her desire to work with aya. She gained many new insights into reality and death.

I will be working with changa more in depth when I get home and in London. I feel it is time to come back to dmt, my first love. It is my hope for Claire that changa calls to her as well. Although ayahuasca has set me free and given me new life dmt is just as large of a part of who I am and for me is my most cherished teacher.

Thank you brother, your words are filled with love and touch me deeply. You have a great approach to your call and Im confident you are going to accomplish great things.
I wish you all the best but I know my wishes are not needed. Ayahuasca will always deliver to those willing to do the work which clearly you bravely are.
much love
