I've had some great personal revelations working with Aya both with and without admixtures. I've been discussing my experiences with my girlfriend and now she wants to start working with the medicine as well. The problem is that she is on tramadol which I know is both a light opiate agonist as well as having some serotonergic action. How long would she have to refrain from taking the tramadol before drinking? I believe a week would probably be enough, but I don't know enough about the possible interactions to state this with any certainty. If anyone has any solid info it would be much appreciated!

Tramadol is hepatically metabolised by the CYPD enzyme systems; it has a half-life of about 6 hours and its most potent metabolite Desmethyltramadol has a half-life of about 9ish hours.

In someone not habituated to tramadol then a week clear of it should be ample time to avoid adverse interactions. If one is habtuated (and this can be seen from 4-12 weeks of daily use) then stopping it abruptly would lead to some withdrawal effects which would still probably not leave you in the mood for aya even 1 week later.
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

Yeah, this is exactly what I was thinking. She has been on it for a long time which I why I was thinking it would take at least a week. I've never dealt with tramadol withdrawal symptoms but I kind of had a feeling it might take more than that before she was up to it. Thanks for your help.
