so i have received a few grams of dried leaves, i have been reading basic info and beginner's guides, i am here for any extra advice and guidance, i thank you in advance for reading.

i am planning on using my glass vg as method of administration, i will also want to start relatively small, only reach level 1 or 2 for the first time, and titrate up, so from my readings i have figured i should start with around 0.3g, but would this figure change due to using a glass vg?
should i start at 0.15g and work from there?

i also want to actively work on mental preparation more so than with recently used changa, perhaps some sort of meditation or yoga before hand, then some breathing/thinking techniques immediately preceding and during administration.

also any particular advice for my sitter gf who has never tried salvia.

my aim is to achieve the most out of what i have, i want to do it wisely, for introspection and spiritual purposes, and i want to take necessary steps to ensure a good integration.

i am planning on doing it sometime during the next week, most probably at night a few hours before bed, unsure of subsequent dose administration, advice on that would also be welcome.

i will be using dried salvia leaf for the first time tonight, soon.

my dose is weighed to about 0.13grams, it's possible my scales need re-calibrating, but they seem to be fine, perhaps a couple 10th of milligrams out if anything.. this amount equated to a tightly packed cone piece which filled my glass vg to just above where the clear part ends and the foggy glass starts, apologies for lack of proper terms...

i am hoping to reach up to level 3, if i reach level 4 this will be ok, but for my first time i'd rather not just yet. i'm going by http://www.sagewisdom.org/faq.html#Section%205

my gf will be my sitter, if all goes well she will try a similar dose once mine has ended.

i tried it, and after maybe 10 seconds the material lit up so i quickly took the lid off and smoked it then tipped the ash out of the bowl.

no effects at all, or if any, very slight, less than level 1, i will try again tomorrow with a bong instead of my glass vg

use a bong and just fill the bowl..if its not taking you within like 30 seconds have another bowl ready to load and hit that as well..make sure you are in a comfortable spot where you can easily fall back into the experience..turn off the lights, tv etc-you want sensory deprevation.

i was thinking of having no water in the bong, or should i put in cold water to cool the smoke?

Salvia smoke is pretty harsh, I would recommend using cold water.

You're going to be just fine smoking dried leaf. You are taking a careful, respectful approach.

For me, and with many people, it takes a lot of dried leaf (NOT extract-fortified) to achieve the sort of effects you're looking for. To the tune of several entire bong bowls, each one held in the lungs for as long as you can. You can literally just approach it bowl-by-bowl. Smoke one, hold it in, and observe effects for a minute. Then smoke a second and observe. Stop when you're at a point where you want to explore the effects. The next time, try doing a bit more and explore deeper. Etc.

It's a good way to build up into the Salvia effects and once they start coming on properly it will be quite startling. The Salvia Scale is good, but it doesn't describe the somatic effects of the stuff well at all. It's very "vision"-centric and doesn't go far in explaining how your perception of your PHYSICAL self is so drastically altered. There really is no preparation for this because there's nothing else in life quite like it. I'm not a fan at all of the transitionary states of Salvia, but the breakthrough and visionary states are profound and unimaginably valuable.

pre-flight anxiety is a pain.

i know i am safe and will be safe.

i was putting shoes on, and the back of my chair knocked my bong off the desk, spilling the full cone and icey water all over the floor, i cut up a new cone and will hopefully be having it soon.

so i finally made myself perform a bong ritual..,

and i almost finished it in one go, which i have never done with a cone of weed that size, there was but a charred ball left, after holding the first hit in for over 30 seconds though i wasn't counting, i then hit the last of it, which then clogged the hole and wouldn't completely go through, so while i held in the 2nd breath, i quickly unblocked the hole with my victorinox, this and packing the 2nd cone turned out to be somewhat difficult due to my body shaking uncontrollably.

the 2 cones worth i'd cut up turned into 3 cause i couldn't be precise enough to fill the 2nd. after it was all finished, i lied down on my bed next to my girlfriend, lights out and all, i felt really hot and sweaty so i had to put my air con on, i basically felt no effects in terms of non-ordinary states, as grof would say.

tonight i will try 3 cones.

last night i also learned not to clean my fibreglass bong with acetone...

tonight i had 4 cones, basically the same, though i wasn't really nervous at all after last night. one thing i forgot to mention was that last night i felt my eyes pulsing a bit when they were closed, tonight was the same but a little more intense.

apart from that it was basically another non-trip.

tomorrow is another day, maybe i'll have 5 or 6.

Try and get hold of some x5 or x10 extract. Don't use a bong ( with or without water) A mere pinch of say 80mg on a double mesh screen in one of those cheap glass or metal pipes you get from headshops.
1-2 hits held in for 20 secs. and that's it, it's coming whether you like it or not! ( use a torch lighter)

i'm so confused...

i recently acquired some 5x salvia, tonight i decided to take some.

measured out what i think is around 40mg, but i cant be sure cause my scales might not be so accurate anymore, but maybe they work fine... they light to stay on 0.00 for a while then go up to 0.05 or 0.06 then i take a bit more off, then back to zero then after 5 seconds up to 0.04, this isn't so important so anyway...

i burn it with my jet lighter into a gravity bucket bong, screw the cone off when finished, inhale it all, i'd been deep breathing for the past 5 mins and was planning on holding it in for 30ish seconds...

***my intended plan at this point was to walk to the window where i would blow the smoke out, then lay flat on my bed and close my eyes, my room was mostly dark except for dim light coming from another room so i could see where i was walking.***

next thing i know, perhaps it was 10 seconds later, i have no idea, but i'm lying on the floor, and the back of my head is aching slightly... i search my memory but nothing, perhaps a very vague recollection of getting a head spin like i'm about to pass out, and slowly squatting to the floor...

i'm like wtf... stand up and move to my bed where i lie down, but the moment was over and i dont feel like anything's really happening, i'm just feeling confused and my head is mildly hurting, like not enough for me to think i fell and hit it on something, cause i've hit my head plenty of times and it feels nothing like that. i get up and check the time and maybe 2 or 3 minutes passed from when i inhaled...

what happened?

attempt number 2:

measured out this time 0.06g, screwed the cone onto the bottle, did some deep breathing, lit it up, breathed it all in fast, started counting the seconds in my head as i put the bottle down and walked to the window... 1, 2,3

next thing i know, my gf is crowded over me yelling at me "are you ok? blah blah blah, a whole bunch of stuff i dont remember" i was just really dazed and confused, felt like she'd just woken me up from a sleep and i didnt know where i was, i felt like i'd recently been hit on my forehead and upper lip, but the feeling wasn't pain at all, and also a sensation in my knees like i'd just banged them too, again no pain... my girlfriend is looking at me wide eyed and so confused, and i'm looking back at her saying and thinking "what? what's your problem?" i remember i was doing salvia tonight, and that i counted to 2 or 3 and then... did i fall over and pass out? why is my girlfriend acting so strange after i've said i'm ok and i'm fine, why is she staring at me? i felt like i was in another reality or she was an alien of something, for a second, cause it felt like she wasn't her, she wasn't acting like my girlfriend acts, i said i'm fine so stop looking at me like that, be normal, i am normal so you be normal (my internal dialogue)

i asked if she was real, this mostly wasn't serious but i just wanted her to act like her, and she said yeah and laughed, and i kept saying i was fine... finally she started being her again...

her account of events were that she heard me light it up, then suck it in, then 1 or 2 seconds later i was on the ground with my face against the wall, moaning in fear, like i was terrified, she rushed over me and touched me and asked me if i was ok, then i turned so my back was against the wall, opened my eyes and looked at her and said what? this all happened within the space of like 5 seconds she said.

i happened to fall onto the corner of a wooden pole that is on that part of the wall... now i have a little bump on my forehead, and my teeth cut the inside of my lip and it's bleeding a little bit, but i feel completely fine, no pain anywhere, i dont feel hurt at all...

this is just so strange

Considering the fact that you have repeatedly injured yourself while under the influence of salvia, you might want to think about re-evaluating your use. I’d suggest either using it in a safe environment with an experienced sitter, or stop using it. It’s not worth a serious injury.

i definitely see where you're coming from and you have made some good points.

now that i have realised i seem to black out after about 5 seconds from the start of inhalation, i will now change my dosing around so that i will be sitting on yoga mats, as soon as i finish inhaling i will lie down onto the mats, and i will definitely only do it with a sitter. i will also continue to take it slowly with lower doses.

if after this i still run into problem then i will re-evaluate the situation again, and stop using altogether if i have to, but as a psychonaut i really want to experience the world of salvia.
