I thought i would make this thread since in the past when ive had a heavy workout like lifting weights i notice that some drugs can have a bad impact on how i feel the day after...

Like everytime ive done mxe the same day of lifting weights ive always felt very sore or even injured the day after, even at preety low doses.

Now tonight i´m really thinking about trying out a batch of shivas i found laying around outsideRolling eyes

But i also have a workout scheduled, i know i will be preety spent tomorow if i try the acid so that´s why i´m wondering if anyone knows how it would affect my recovery?

Going into a work out you should be fresh for whatever muscles you're training. Being drained from LSD probably won't be that big a deal but you'll get the best results from being 100% before work outs.

Yeah that´s probably a good idea, somehwo i never get off to working out after lsd/shrooms, but after mxe or aya i usually feel stronger than usual.

My question was more regarding taking drugs after working out, if they can screw up my recovery somehow?

Like i said i feel that mxe does just that since ive always become very sore if i take it after working out.

I think it's kinda a silly question. I mean after a powerful entheogenic experience the whole point of working out is highly questionable, because it's so unnatural to "go to a gym to lift weights". It's just another aspect of the madness of society, and you know that psychadelics want you Not TO indulge in that bollocks.

-Do what you can, you can't have it all. Perhaps chill the exercising a little, and see it for what it is, and try to not get obsessed about it.

-Personally i train hard almost every day regardless of how awful i feel, because for me it's about far more than simple adding an inch to my arms and pecs. I just like to keep moving and enjoy overcoming challenges, which to me is healthy and useful to "this" existence. Never the less, it's still a load of societal bollocks that has , like society got nothing to do with living the utopian life we currently should be, which is in the nature, like the indigenous people do.Cool

Why is it silly to know how these things affect my body?

If anything i think it´s reckless to fuck up my daily routines to be able to do drugs, if i can´t live my life like i should i don´t wan´t to use a specific compounds, that´s why i will never use mxe again after working out since it felt bad for me.

Also not everyone who lifts weights does it for aestethic reasons, i mean it´s fun to see my body evolve but i mostly do it challenge myself, push my body to new limits so to speak.

There is something special about defying gravity and deadlifting tvice your body weight or more, also i do martial arts and have a physicacly demanding job, so keeping my body strong and healthy is very important to me.

Personally i don´t get why most "hippies" try to get deep and evolve their minds and souls but totally ignore their bodies, being in good shape is not a bad thing at all.

> I apologise if i sounded "off", but what i mean't was that serious exercise requires serious diet and recuperation. Obviously doing anything that will affect this will affect your training and maintaining of fitness levels, and therefore self confidence. A DMT trip may even make you question why you are doing this..Since it is good to exercise, but not good to take it too seriously.

> A more balanced viewpoint may be a better choice if you want to keep them both up, but if you want best training results then it's all about 1. good Diet, 2. intense Exercise, 3.lotsa Rest and calm mind. Great for fitness, but not for venturing into such realms as hyperspace. Remember that although keeping fit makes you feel great, it'll never make you trip, so if you want to, you'll simply have to make some sacrifices. Wink

> I think "hippies" are into Yoga, which is a mind/body type of exercise. Whilst weight training is all about building strength and becoming stronger, and this is not a healthy way to develop the body in Yoga terms, causing stiffness and blockages, which actually can take "hippies" away from the states they wish to become more open to....Cool

Sorry if i sounded off aswell but there are probably so many misunderstandings when talking through words at a forum,

I agree that if you only lift heavy weights as your physical training you won´t build anything but strength and size,

But for me weightlifting is just one of the tools i use to progress my skills, i agree that yoga is a great way to build cordination and flexibilty which are important parts of physical fitness.

But i need more than that since what i do also require power and max strength combined with cardio to maintain these atributes for long periods of time.

Alot of trainings we wrestle nonstop for almost 2hours so the ability to save energy and explode in the right moments are crucial.

Here´s a ncie video of one of the best brazilian jiu jitsu artists ever, very strong and powerful but he moves like a cat Razz

Getting the proper amount of sleep is just as important as nutrition/exercise

I agree with this, you probably felt so achy after taking MXE because of it's probable disruptive effect on your sleep cycle. I always find recovery takes longer with anything that affects my sleep cycle, as deep delta sleep is vital to muscle recovery and so easily affected by certain drugs.

Good thread though shroomtroll, I think a healthy body is vital for a healthy mind, which is turn vital to get the most out of one's exploration of entheogens. Keeping one's priorities straight when it comes to exercise vs. substance use is important to maintain one's health.
