salvia is best to use in sensory deprivation IMO..no light, no music unless light tonal sounds without fast pulsing or changing rythms and laying down against pillows or blankets. Everything described in the above post sounds like effects that manifest when salvia is not taken this way. I have had all of those same effects and they were always when I had sensory distractions. You want to forget the body completely with this medicine..it is a powerful dissociative, but at the same time the mind attempts to reassociate with other objects, sounds, lights etc if they are present..this is when things get confusing..salvia is always going to be weird, but alot of the freakout confused trips can be avoided if the set and setting are ideal for this plant.

the 2nd time i tried salvia i heard a car go by, and i felt this zipper come back over my body, and it tore me out of hyperspace. this is when i learned that salvia should be done basically in sensory dep. i was angry at that car.

salvia basically immobilizes me as well, as i tend to go deep. once a couple yrs ago, i gave some to a friend, and he sat on the floor and smoked. he got up, ran to the bathroom, and opened and slammed shut the window several times very fast. it was kinda scary. since this episode, i am very leery to give it to anyone, and no smoking unless on ground level.

So what happens when there is nothing for the mind to associate with -- silent darkness?

Any reports of mixing breakthrough doses of DMT w/ breakthrough doses of Salvia? In time I'm hoping to achieve this. Then move onto Ibogaine possibly datura. Then mixing low dose Ibogaine w/ Aya. Thoughts? I'm 25 as of now and don't plan to reach my Ibo/Aya mix until I'm about 35-40. (I like baby steps)
I can think of nothing more important for the survival of our species and those we live with then for us all to have access to the psychedelic experience.

You can dose DMT dose with salvia dose together.
You can try slowly iboga (microdosing), I don't see why you want to do a full delirium datura experience and know it is probably the more taxing, physically and mentally. It could undo what good iboga does.. A low iboga with ayahuasca or aya has been done though it is not very recommended as Iboga is already something that binds to all receptors, a high dose of harmalas could be uncomfortable with too much stimulation.. but in low doses it has been done again.
I really wouldn't seek for datura, if you can work with salvia, dmt, iboga and ayahuasca.
But if you're so fascinated but this plant you could still try and add a little pinch of flower in a SMOKING mix like changa to have a note, but nothing more than a microdose. Or try 5 datura inoxia seeds before bed, it can help with sleeping and dreaming.

Stay far away from Datura. It is a fools drug. There is nothing to be gained from the tropane trance. I am speaking from experience and warning you. I know how much humans are leprechauns, though. Please be safe, and beware that it is a discouraged drug topic around this forum because of this. Thanks.

Woooowww sad for that kid... I've only done Salvia a handful of times and each time I didn't like it. I got some leaves on the way but i'm gonna be experimenting with low doses for sure.

As far as Datura goes well after reading House's comment about Datura and reading this trip report there is no way in hell I would touch that stuff. Shocked
1% of reality is within our plane of existence. What we feel... what we see... what we hear... what we "think" we know... The other 99% percent of reality can only be shown to us through DMT. This 99% lies within the "Realm of the Unknowns". We can only experience FULL reality when we leave this vessel, our bodies. DMT gives us a taste of this full reality... the universal knowledge is given to us by the beings who call "hyperspace" their home. When in hyperspace there is no "self" but instead this self is replaced with pure and raw energy. ENERGY CAN NOT BE DESTROYED, ONLY TRANSFERRED OR TRANSFORMED! So when you have that "ego-death" during a breakthrough trip, don't fret, you are not being destroyed but yet..... YOU ARE BEING TRANSFORMED.

I LOVE YOU, RESPECT YOU AND I THANK YOU... Dimethyltryptamine ... for showing me the 99% of reality that I would never have experienced in everyday life.

I've read similar reports to this one. It's amazing how many people end up in the hospital, personally I feel it's all their fault. For instance in this report the gentleman drank 2 doses and was out on the town. As christain state "SET, SETTING, DOSE....SET, SETTING, DOSE....SET, SETTING............... Very happy"

All of us experience know to take baby steps whilst using such intense substances. I still have much research to do, and truly am not sure if I ever will consume Datura. Thank you tho for the trip report.

I don't know how to explain it to you. You never want to go there. Ever. You would be a complete fool to do so. There is nothing beneficial about it. Steer clear knowing you are wise for doing so, and stick to the entheogens that have positive effects on your body and mind. You have been warned.

The real problem with datura is that the effective dose is extremely close to the lethal dose. Combine this with the possibility that while tripping on datura you might be so delirious that you don't know anymore that you took datura, making for some funny as well as some sad stories.

When reading about datura trips I cannot stop noticing that they either end op in jail, the hospital or the cemetery. And I can't imagine that this only comes because ALL people are not careful.

Tripping on datura is highly dangerous and therefor indeed discouraged on the DMT-Nexus. We do however have a few threads about low dose datura for its potentiating and nausea suppression effects. However, we are then talking about 10 datura seeds as a maximum!

Kind regards,

The Traveler

Thanks ۩ & The Traveler. You both are making great points. I'm already leery about it, and since both of you well respected members are advising against it, and the Nexus as a whole, it tells me to heed the warnings and steer clear. I think you've all pointed me in the correct direction. Thank you for keeping me well. Much love!

Thank YOU for understanding (and The Traveler for articulating it so clearly, as always.)
That really makes me happy knowing one less person is going to go down that terrible road. <3

That was by far the scariest trip report I have ever read. I don't understand why one would subject himself to that.

Very tragic and sad, this kid looked younger than 17.

salvia is very strange, and should always be carefull and watch the dose you are in taking.

personal experience talking here...
[experience]get a salvia plant, make it big, make ten more, make them big.
chew leaves constantly when she can provide it....[/experience]

the real lessons are learned over a long period with mild usage. I gained a good bit on plant conciousness (which I can't freaking spell) over several years.
I remember staring at a plant (for how long?) and seeing the energy in alternating green/purple, I felt the light and heard it make food, the true amazement of a plant eating light.
I tried extract one time and didn't really care for it.

Back when the Salvia plant first came around, I remember getting a few clones. Hoffman/Wasson and later the Luna. I remember us all being so excited, "the unknown plant of Hoffman and Wasson!!!!"
I remember getting it to flower and caring for it. I remember our fear when a particular person started selling 10x extract and salvinorum to any idiot with a credit card.
Personally, I can't believe it is still legal.

I am not big on those extracts either, or smoking the leaves at all really. Quidding is the way to go IMO..the plant is so rediculousily easy to grow and establish cuttings from that anyone interested should just go that route and cut out the middleman making money off extracts way too potent to be marketed the way they are. Things are just bound to go wrong and this stuff always ends up in the wrong hands.

Long live the unwoke.

Not again..... What is with this suicidal trend?
If you're convinced you can fly why not try taking off from the ground?

I've had a few really bad trips on some Psychedelics, yet not once was my reason
impaired to the degree jumping out of a window seemed like a good idea.

Indeed it seems alot more common with Salvia for this sleep-walk state to occur than it
is with other psychedelics. If I'll ever give Salvia another shot (never broke through)
it will defenitely be with a sitter.

Hello everyone,

I never experienced sleepwalking or any other disturbing and worrying effects while on Salvinorin, and I´ll try to interpret why.

In traditional contexts, Salvia was never smoked (olny chewed/drank), and there may be a "scientific" reason for this: Salvinorin A is an extremely potent substance, being active already at 200 micrograms, making it only 10 times less potent than LSD-25 (!). Therefore, when smoking Salvia in any form (especially when smoking enhanced leafs), there is ALWAYS a danger of overdosing - or taking a dose larger than prepared for...

Traditionally, Salvia used to be taken with much greater respect than we can see nowadays on youtube... Smoking Salvia is a "western" method of ingestion which can cause a lot of problems (read/watch on internet). "Traditional" method of administration - sublingual absorption in silence and darkness - however, can provide a truly shamanic experience of transcending the boundaries of this world and of one´s ego, and offers time (cca 1 - 2 hours) to actually "work" with the experience...

I am not saying that smoking Salvia is a "bad" method of administration (it is maybe a more challenging one). What I would suggest to anyone determined to start experimenting experiment with Salvia, however, would be to start with "traditional", i.e. sublingual, method of administration. I never had, and never heard of, any sleepwalking... and/or other worrying and dangerous reactions when using traditional method.

- start low (6 leafs or so)
- in complete silence and darkness,
- lie down, and be fully open to what will (have to) follow

Let the world of Salvia welcome us amiably...
Peace and Love,
Michal
