As we all know or should know the actives inside of the Salvia leaf work on our opiate receptors. I'm currently a recovering opiate addict who takes a medication called Naltrexone. Naltrexone is strictly an opiate blocker, it contains no agonists or opiates. So for instance if I wanted to use a Vicodin, the medication would not work because my Naltrexone is blocking my opiate receptors not allowing the hydrocodone(Vicodin)from attaching and giving pain relief effects.
So one must ask the question if opiate blockers affect Salvia? From my guess I will get no effects whatsoever and it will have been a waste of my time, effort, and of a sacred substance.
Another thought I've been pondering about quite a bit is lets say one has a high opiate tolerance because of being an active opiate user. Will this person in theory need more than the recommended dosage of Salvinorin-A to reach a similar state of consciousnesses?
One must also go onto ponder about DXM(Dextromethorphan/Robo Tripping). Seeing as how DXM also works on opiate receptors, we much ask the same questions as we have for Salvia. (Fun fact of the day! DXM is based off the chemical structure of codeine. Codeine was used as a cough suppressant before DXM was synthesized. DXM was created because the public was abusing their "cough medicine" and we wanted an alternative that is safer or less addictive or whatever, but with similar cough suppressing effects.)
Next is can we start to form a conversion chart for tolerance to opiates to recommended dose of Salvia and possibly DXM. I hope this thread stirs up a lot of intense research on the conversion, it seems like it could become a valuable tool to for the public. Maybe any persons who take prescription opiates and who use them as directed could shed some light on what opiates they are prescribed in what doses and what amount of Salvinorin-A is required for them to have a "breakthrough" experience.
Thank you all so very much! Peace & Love my Fellow Terrestrials!!!
I can think of nothing more important for the survival of our species and those we live with then for us all to have access to the psychedelic experience.
