My smoking blend is just Rue and Spice. Simple as can be.
I take a bit of syrian rue and grind it up in a pepper mill. I don't want it too be too powdery, so that's my way. I place it into rubbing alchohol first. I'll let that sit a day, then add some spice. If need be the alchohol may be topped off. Then I let it dry till both the product and I are ready.
Personally, it just feels way wrong to ever use a petro chemical with my spice, so oplease do not advice me to use any.
The Rue is added first--my hope is that the Harmalas and spice will both be dissolved and mix, so that when smoked I get 'em both at the same time, rather than spice first followed by the Rue. I have not yet decided if this is in anyway superior to merely smoking rue solo first, waiting and then smoking the spice. Need to experiment more to get to the bottum of that one. Possibly smoking straight rue first and then blazing up the mixture after 20 minutes may be more effective....my supply has been limited so experiments have been likewise.
I don't know if you'd call that changa or something different, but the effects are great. A solid 10-15 minute experience that always seems much much longer. Smoke goes down nice and smooth and the experience is nice and smooth.
When I first read of changa this was the first idea that came to mind--so far it's the only recipe I've tried--thethe effects seem to stack up to what others report, so I've assumed it's good. Now that I've joined this community, I wonder if maybe the other recipes you good people use may in fact have advantages.
