Well, I had 9 plants this year, 2 nurtured indoors over the winter and 7 from cuttings (2 died) that were all placed out in my yard in may. Other than a little slug damage and some minor aphid colonies (curled leaves on a couple of the plants), all but one thrived, this lone one staying small for some unknown reason... the tallest one attained 4 feet and had HUGE leaves. I have dried my harvest, but have yet to weigh it for yield, but suffice to say, I have way more than I need...

Is there any particular reason you harvested the entire plants rather than just the leaves? (Forgive me for my ignorance salvia master, this will be my first time growing S. divinorum).

I still wish my plant had made it through the mail.
Stupidly I ordered it during the fall and it was completely liquified when it arrived.

I won't be smoking salvia anytime soon and would be hesitant to work with her again but I have heard good things about quidding and may like to try one day.
I would on the other hand love to grow one, they are so beautiful, its something about the leaves they just look special

A few of you "masters" ought to put together a cultivation tek on the wiki or elsewhere for the less inclined to growing mammoth Salvia leaves! I would love to hear all the details on your growing practices: soil, light, food, watering, etc.

I just accidentally revived my Salvia by placing her in a small humidity tent. For some reason the large one I fashioned didn't hold the humidity well. So I'm back in the game and seeing nice healthy growth. Nothing like these fine specimens though.

I didn't. I cut the stalks down to a node, like making an already rooted cutting, then took the leaves off and discarded the stalks. This is the best of both worlds: you get all or most of the leaves, and a plant that will grow back, but is ready for an interior winter storage.

I am so jealous of all of you right now. I have definitely said this more than once, but I can't freakin wait until I can grow my own.

What's holding you back? All you need is a bright windowsill (and a cuttig, of course...) Oh, I forgot to mention, I gave one of the plants (before harvesting, of course) to Shayku, a nexus member and friend who lives in my town. Find a donor where you live!

^^ That is what is holding me back. I really don't have any way to get a cutting. Also, I do not own the house, and I am not quite sure what I would tell to the owner should she ask any questions regarding the plant next to the window.

Should you get ahold of a cutting, there are easy solutions to the 2nd problem: tell the owner it is an a plant indigenous to Mexico that was given to you. Anyway, I understand the difficulty and I hope you find some way of getting around it - they are very rewarding plants to grow!

Ah, I see. So does this mean you left the main stem (from what I can tell this is called the "internode"?) intact?
