I know it may seem silly that they need more money to help with the launch even though the film is mostly completed, but think about it...this film is not meant to just preach to the quire and reach the eyes of those already aware. Its meant to help overturn the culture ignorance of psychedelic medicines, and so its useless unless it reaches a wider audience. It takes a lot to make something like this hit that level. With all the misleading bull that the media spews out about these substances we need every positive project we can get, in my opinion. Looks like this is going to be a great documentary explaining the beneficial aspects of psychedelic medicines and hopefully reaching many people in a positive way..and the good thing about kickstarter is that its not really donations. If you pledge $25 you get a free download of it and other stuff at the higher levels

I pledged $250, so I'm looking forward to that 1960's edition of the Doors of Perception
I originally pledged $25, but there was a voice in my head that kept on saying to do the $250, so I finally conceded to it on intuition. It felt like the right thing to do.
Anyway, I really hope it gets funded too.

Wow. It was at $3,000 something in donations yesterday, and now it's at $13,000. Somebody made a $10,000 donation. Way to go whoever that was!

I don't understand, if they reach only for example 30000 usd, why can't the remaining funds be raised by other methods after this one gets closed? Like for example couple months fundraising elsewhere... I don't get it, so if it doesn't reach the goal the money will just go to their pockets?

That sounds most logical. It was also right after that donation that they decided to give a tax break thanks to MAPS for everyone who made a donation $250+



When you donate the money, they don't actually take the money out of your bank account unless by the 23rd they've reached their quota, and if not, no money will be accepted. Who knows why they've established such a tight deadline though.

That's good idea, they should obviously wait for longer as there are not so many trippers who can donate 1000usd for example!

I know. On one hand it would be nice to know I still have that money I pledged to use for other things. On the other hand I really wanna see this documentary get produced. It can turn out to be a really great source of ammo or defense (for the passive-aggressive perspective ) in the whole de-demonization of entheogens.

Its been up on kickstarter for weeks now..the deadline was the normal kickstarter deadline as far as i know..they can't decide to make the deadline as big as they want

They actually got quite a boost this past week. i didn't think it was going to make it..things are looking better now..but still, theres only 44 hours left and nearly 15 thousand to go!

So what do you think will happen if the deadline isn't met?

well they won't get any of the money but i think they'll still try and go on with production, since they seem to already have a lot of material put together..i'm not sure what would be differentabout it though..but i'd guess it could be a shorter and more incomplete piece without the resources they need, and it might not get as much attention if they can't spread the word as well as they'd hoped to..i'm not sure what they'll do really

but lets not let it get to that!
