Hello All,

I am reading this book called A New Earth by Ekhart Tolle. He also has another wonderful book called the power of now.

I am curious to see how many people have heard of theses books, and perhaps some of you are reading, or have read them?

They discus the ego in great depth. How we are all (the human race as a whole) are so identified with our egos, and we let our ego run our lives. I haven't done large amounts of reading on Buddhist teachings, but friends of mine who have say that Tolle's books are very similar in nature but are very easy to read, unlike many Buddhist teachings which may be hard to read for someone who is just getting into this sort of thing.

Since I started reading the book I have bought many copies and have been handing them out to people who I feel would benefit from them. I know a good friend who fully attributes his ability to have a working relationship with his alcoholic mother to this book. It is definitely worth your time to check it out.

Yeah, Eckhart is great. There are some torrents available of his video sessions. I love how he presents the information and his little personality ticks. His laugh always cracks me up.

I need to read his stuff again. The best thing about his works is you can re-read them several times and always get something new from it. The more you progress, the more everything makes sense.

Thanks for sharing and I hope some members that haven't heard of him will benefit from this post.

Yes I have found that too. Its the type of book you can carry on you, and at any given point flip it open to any random page and you will be sure to find new wisdom.

I have read them both twice Smile , great books. There are lots of videos on youtube with Tolle.

+1

I've read both books several times over, they have made a huge impact on how I think about, view, and engage with the world. Highly recommended to anyone who has not read them.
