Hi,
I was at a festival this weekend and had 3 people try changa. I have smoked it many times and though it's always scary at first, it always worked out OK. It seems the people that tried changa at the festival (who were also tripping on LSD and MDMA) seemed to get sorta weird after one hit and didn't want anymore. Two left the group only to come back and leave the festival early. Is changa too much for some people, seemed nobody liked it though they where too weirded out to talk about it. It was basicall DMT infused Rue. I feel kinda bad that the experience was unpleasant for them and I'm kinda have some weird thought about not sharing changa as it's not for everyone. Any thoughts about sharing changa with others would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Well mixing mdma with harmalas can potentially be dangerous and is really NOT advised at all, so maybe this had something to do with it, i dunno. Besides this though i've encountered many people who are too overwhelmed by changa.. they don't let go, and resistance and fear warps the trip into a more terrifying experience..Careful attention to set/setting can really help though..a lot of these people seem to be much more ok with it when its done in smaller groups, and in a safe and familiar location, in my experience. Apart from all this though, sometimes things just go bad. Changa is absolutely amazing- but probably not for everyone
<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

You gave a MAOI to people on MDMA? That sounds horribly dangerous and like it could very easily make for an uncomfortable trip. Aside from that, if they'd never done it before, then on acid at a festival might not have been the best setting.

I'd say changa can be very harsh to someone, it's not a "guaranteed good trip". But in most case integrating difficult experiences is very rewarding. Smell like tea n,n spirit !

Yeah, Changa and MDMA (specially if it is a strong MAOI) can be quite dangerous. I have a friend who thinks Changa is too "sedating" and doesn't like the lingering effects. I prefer it for many reasons. You just have to be careful when smoking it whilst on other substances... mainly stimulants. Be carefully, buddy.

Thanks Guys, I will definitively not be taking it to festivals any time soon or offer it to anyone on MDMA. I feel bad about being so irresponsible and not doing my research. I've been having a difficult time with the experience on others and though I didn't try it, I feel like shit for what I put others through. It's like I'm still having a bad trip from this weekend from the LSD

Could have sent people to the hospital... BE MORE CAREFUL... Always ask people before sharing what else they are on and if they are taking any medications and if you don't know don't share. This is also why people shouldn't sell it to people who don't know anything about it either. Not a party favor... 'Normal doses' of MDMA (125ish mgs) and a decent blast of changa is definitely a hazardous combination, certainly on a physical level. This is combination that should be avoided without doubt. IMO, changa will beat you as mercilessly as neat freebase IF your mindset offers resistance.Plus it goes on just that little bit longer........ There are reports of some, particularly down under in Australia, who have successfully smoked changa in a spliff with MDMA, and IIRC, the doses of MDMA were deliberately cut back to below 125mgs.The spliff method allows one to paddle till the sweetspot is reached, whereas say a good bonghit of strong changa always will overshoot the sought-after space and at these 'rates of delivery', the physical manifestations of the amphetamine-MAOI interaction becomes a real hazard. I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

I have smoked changa whilst on MDMA a few times. I have never had any adverse effects, but I would still not advise it. I have done many stupid things in my time, and I expect I will do more. Sometimes I am just very capable of throwing caution to the wind. Not sensible. I will state again, even though I (and others) have not sen ill-effects form the combination it is not advised. With regards to changa giving bad trips, as others above have said it is very capable of giving you a journey just as soul-destroying and painful as straight spice. Be wary.

Once at a small social gathering swim gave changa to a old friends girl friend with a ER doctor friend standing right there. She took a very small hit fell tothe ground and started doing the "fish" then started crying and clinging to her boyfriend. The doctor and I just stared at her for a while, checked her pulse did some basic orienting with her and walked away... "borderline personLity disorder?" "yeah good call I would say so... She may not even have known she was putting on an act." That was the only adverse reaction swims ever seen and it was a pathological response due to a personality DO, in both out professional opinions. I think the changa blend you make will effect how well its received by ppl, if you make a sweet tasting enjoyable blend with clean dmt and organic herbs I think your going to get a better response. Be sure of course to make sure you give it to ppl responsibly as well. the blend I find tastes the best is lavender, peppermint, cappi, cannabis. I'm not sure that the taste of the blend is going to have a large enough impact on the set and setting or the toxicity of the mind ingesting it at the time or the medicines natural inclination to expose and purge those toxicities... Lest we forget that changa is a smokable form of ayahuacsa who does have a reputation for scarin the sick out of a clueless beast with two legs... Yes, Changa can be a difficult trip (see below) It has also provided some of my most wonderful experiences. I don't feel that freebase has as much depth and warmth as when combined with the vine, and have certainly had more weird / difficult times with FB than C... I do feel the vine adds that 'motherly' quality to the spice, and helps sort of supervise the proceedings a little more. Even your mother can give you a hard time though! I have certainly had the 'sick scared out of me' - it was intense, felt like my soul was drifting out of my mouth and through my fingers... The sick was a weird orange colour as well (bile of some sort?) I still feel that I have more to purge, so changa will be used over frebase in the future. strange to give out changa at a festival somehow i have the feeling that its a real sacrament and that its not meant to be for the only curious but is to be taken with care, respect and proper intention in a appropriate setting  but that might be just me blessed be all forms of intelligence

Changa seems to be highly susceptible to set and setting and intention really is a guiding factor in your experiences... It won't force you to purge like aya but it may want you to face somethings and purge, but you have to be willing! If you just want to get drunk and get wyrd... It will even let you do that.... It's a very nice lady... Who loves to entertian. A rude tasting blend thats hard to smoke gives me worse trips I find, one could even argue that having to choke down a foul smoke would be considered part of set and setting the same way looking at an offensive picture as you smoke would be. usually ppl don't like smoking something that tastes like shit, I've given out tons of changa and get way better reviews from the blend I mentioned. Not saying you wont still have a bad trip anyways , just saying it helps. "I maintain that Truth is a pathless land, and you cannot approach it by any path whatsoever, by any religion, by any sect."
