The chlorination of dmt from DCM has been demonstrated long ago, but lack of repetition of such observations has put the issue in the "freezer" so to speak. It's good that this paper brings this issue back and I do think that a safety mention re the use of DCM is due.
As for dmt reaction with other solvents, hell really knows unless one goes on and specifically tests them. hydrocarbons are considered fairly unreactive in the conditions commonly employed in A/B and STB extractions. But on the other hand, endlessness found about the chlorination of limonene from HCl, so it's better to keep a careful eye around.
