I wish their werent any guns in the world, but I think we are a little to far gone for that to happen..
I own several rifles, 2 of which are strictly for sport shooting when I go camping with friends. It is fun the day after acid or shrooms to shoot a rifle or shotgun for awhile.. I have one shotgun I keep hidden in an easily accessible place, with 2 shells in a separate area for self-defense.
Detroit is a dangerous place to live, a lot of people who wouldnt think twice about putting a bullet in your head while you sleep so that you wont wake up while they rob your house.. I have never had to use it, and I pray that I never do, but if it comes down to me and my family, or the life of a hoodlum who only wants to steal what you have and kill you so he doesnt have to go out and work like the rest of us.. The example I used here was what happened to my cousin Brandon just a mile from my house 7 years ago this fall. He was shot in the head while he was sleeping on his "friends" couch from school, his friend shot him because earlier that day he showed him 300 dollars that he made that summer working for his grandpa. The friend wanted the 300 dollars, so instead of maybe hitting him over the head or just stealing it while he was asleep, the dumb 14 year old took his parents HANDGUN, which was loaded and ready to shoot, and blew his brains out at point blank range on his own couch. The handgun was not registered and was required illegally by the boys parents.
Most importantly! We need to accept the fact that there are guns in the world, and that gangs will always be able to get guns, any group of people with money will always be able to get guns regardless of the law, at this point the smartest thing any of us could do is teach ourselves and our children what gun safety is, what guns should be used for, and everything you should never do with a gun (which is everything but defend yourself and your family from the crazies who are out there.
Switzerland has the lowest crime rate of any country, they also happen to teach gun safety starting in elementary school, as a citizen you are allowed to carry loaded auto, semi-auto, or full automatic weapons almost wherever they go. Think about the reasons why. why would you rob someone if you know that there is a good chance that person has a gun, and knows how to use it? Kids are less inspired to join gangs and make trouble when they were raised with respect for such a powerful piece of man-made madness. Most would like to argue that gun safety has anything to do with how good a kid is growing up or how intelligent. But something works in that method, and I dont know what it is, but I think that as a child, if your parents and your country show you how to handle, control, aim, and shoot a firearm, you will have already grown up with a sense of maturity and a feeling as if you need to be responsible because sense you were a baby your country has asked you to be a "responsible big kid" and to do whats right when it comes to guns, so I think that the gun safety transfers over into life safety in some way or another...
Everything I say is fictional, I do not support illegal drug use of any kind, SWIM is a fictional character.
