Hi all, I am new here. Have been reading for about 6 months on and off. I guess it's time to join the discussion rather than just observe. Often times I come here looking for some specific information and end up reading for a long time. Getting new ideas and seeing things a different way. I decided to introduce myself because I want to contribute. I have learned from the collective knowledge and experience that people around here have offered freely. I hope to be part of that and "give back" even if it is a simple confirmation of results or possibly a new idea or approach. I truly appreciate the diversity of this forum. I think, from what I have seen so far, that the goal is more than just a high yield or a fast tek (not to diminish these qualities), It's just....the waters run deep..... So, Who am I? Not that different from any other. Just another cog in the machine. And at the same time a really special unique one of a kind mix of energy. I hope to learn more about who I am here. I am a battle of ego vs. reality. I only stand a chance when I am humbled and challenged. I find that here, just by observing. I am open minded and willing. I wish to interact more. I do not doubt that the sun will rise tomorrow. More of me will be revealed as time unfolds. I sincerely refuse to accept things the way they right now. My goal is to grow.....and learn.....and give it all away....so I can get more of it. What I get here is more than anything else....be patient.... Ren Everything written above never happened.

for years now my cat has always been doing little experiments. usually when I wasn't home. his backround is in lab technique so he was always very clean and safe and meticulious. very particular about being organised, and keeping track of things. so AFOAF has a kitty who also likes to do experiments and his kitty started to play with MHRB. Of course my cat was excited. I told him all about the stuff I read and he took it from there. he followed directions, read the FAQ and safety info and decided to give it go. his first tek yeilded results. but he also had a near disaster due to a large glass vessel breaking because too much heat was applied too fast. my cat was humbled for weeks. carefully checking himself. what was he thinking. if he hadn't had that bucket handy when the wine jug cracked it would have spilled a pH 13.5 solution all over his desk. he managed to spare the top layer of the solution and the rest is history.....the problem now is how to use it. change comes slowly, this is understood, the drinking problem ain't gonna magically go away. much to explore and process. smoking gives insight but alcohol still prevails. looking for answers. it is not that special of a condition. there has been much healing going on and there is much more needed. especially today. Everything written above never happened.

Hi renaissance, Really beautiful introduction! Welcome to both you and your attractive cat (nice photo) to the Nexus! No real answers here and no easy cures, but lots of people who have been in similar situations to your cat. So, did your kitty do another, successful extraction? The implication is yes. Did kitty pyroassay? When you talk about smoking helping, smoking what? How long has the alcoholism been an issue. I'm no medical expert or therapist but in my life experience I have noticed fairly high success rates for those of us who try to work on core issues of addictions, treat our harmful addictions first, then turn to the deeply spiritual, highly immersive psychedelic experiences to help consolidate what we have learned and achieved. But, I'm only speaking for myself and a few people I have known. Every kitty must find their own path. Please take a good look around. Given its' nature, your cat will really appreciate the Health & Safety, Wiki and FAQ links above. Again, welcome! "But even if nothing lasts and everything is lost, there is still the intrinsic value of the moment. The present moment, ultimately, is more than enough, a gift of grace and unfathomable value, which our friend and lover death paints in stark relief."-Rick Doblin, Ph.D. MAPS President, MAPS Bulletin Vol. XX, No. 1, pg. 2Hyperspace LOVES YOU

All must be lost, for anything to be gained. Psychedelics can be great tools to solve addictions and other life problems when used responsibly and in that context. Much luck to you and your endeavors, the Nexus is truly a wonderful place with a wide mix of educated and experienced voyageurs. Remember, if the women dont find you handsome.....they might as well find you handy.

Okay. First off I feel very welcome by the response and greetings. Thanks. I have had a drinking problem for ~15 years. By "smoking gives insight" I meant I am also addicted to cigarettes. My cat talks about smoking freebase DMT. Apparently he tried some. I told him to make sure someone was with him the first time. He says kudos to the wiki. He has a keen eye for good information. 'Some of the discussion doesn't add up, but that's okay', he says. 'Particularly the stuff about syrian rue and its alks' He says the "harmala red" issue and the THH concerns should be put to bed and when he has hard data he will do this. Kitty talks big. I will believe when I see. In the meantime...who knows? I am trying to be proactive about alcohol abuse. I am taking baclofen, which has recently been discovered to reduce alcohol (and other) cravings as well as reduce anxiety, and without the typical side effects associated with the newer drugs. It is an old drug that was first developed to treat muscle spasticity. It is a GABA-B agonist. I agree with the idea that anxiety led to my alcohol adiction so it seems to make sense to take this drug for now. It is the only thing that has ever helped. I hate synthetic drugs but this really helps. Before baclofen I was drunk all the time. GABA is so bizarre. Also taking a prescription form of L-Methylfolate called Deplin; just started. It is a form of folate that can cross the blood-brain barrier. Awaiting blood test results that will determine if I have a gene mutation that prevents my body from making this form of folate. Everything written above never happened.
